Phoenix
by BlueWolf ©
The woman with mosaic eyes
And flaxen hair of desert gold,
A Phoenix in the August sky
Where passion ‘neath the surface lie;
A creature awesome to behold.
Bewitched, I ‘came upon her gaze;
With silent spell from ancient time
She quickly set my soul ablaze;
A swoon, my heart; entangled daze;
Enraptured in her nights sublime.
In her, I held the prophecy;
Confident there was no other
Promise of immortality,
In her, I found my destiny,
And embraced my children’s mother.
With her I dreamed to be interred;
Complete, a life of countless years.
Inseparable, it seems now absurd,
to cling to her, that fiery bird.
I miss her whisper in my ears.
