Where the River Goes

Lost in this ever-changing world, trapped inside our constant flux of change - ideas, thoughts and meanings subject to loss only remegere from nothingness and allow themselves to be seen.. But only if we are adapt enough to allow ourselves to see them.. We can then decipher the outcomes and fit them into what we want rather than what we need. Like a clock ever ticking, the river of mind flows endlessly. Never will we, as simple humans, completely understand this flow. All we can do is utilize what we have to the fullest. Not to say we cannot create things from other things, but that which cannot be seen is that which can be created and destroyed - only to be rebuilt afterwards, gaining the strength needed to endure hardships percieved. Although the vast majority of them are simply that - mere perceptions. Different ways different people view different parts of the world. What seems to be true to you is probably false to me. Enlightenment must come from within. I usually care not about what others think. Space is important and very scarce and rare inside our minds. Working towards a goal is what should drive many things in this life. If everyone or everything is focused on a unified goal then the common may rise to the exceptional, the normal to the extraordinary. We all have these unique abilities tucked inside - underneath age, emotion, bias uncertainty. Listen to yourself. Turn off your television. Turn off your radio. Sometimes the words flow out and fly through so quickly the hand cannot keep up with the mind. Lost in thought occurs and then the cycle starts again. Quite impossible to achieve anything they haven't already seen - if you think they think. Playing their stupid little game better than we ever fucking could. Regret. Something I wish to have none of. Something that inevitably creeps in to the psyche of the majority of human beings. The feeling that said too much, or did too little. Too often we are constricted by our thoughts or the opinions of others. When barriers like these are broken down, almost anything is achieveable. It begins with mind. It starts with thought. It originates from of cognitive chemicals swirling around forming our daisy chain of energy we call a brain. Inspiration-less art stems from nothingness, seldom emerging victorious. Waiting for something to happen is called being in a rut. I will do almost anything to avoid it, yet it is of course quite possible that's where the root of the problem lies. The quest for more: more time, more space, more money, more "friends" has, in a sense, plagued us as a species. "The grass is always greener on the other side." Why? Why can't we be happy with our grass? Why can we not be content with what we already have? Some try to relate it to the balance - I say that is bullshit. Others blame it on lack of ability. Or even desire - the desire to have the newest and hottest product. It comes from upbringing: families and cultures, especially that of North America, have put so much "stock" into that of materialistic things, that we lose sight what really matters. Life. Love. Nature. Death. Rebirth. The constant cycle of living - positive in, negative out - like the waves of the ocean. The abundant usage of toxins such as nicotine, caffeine and alcohol (stop it) which are all legal, of course (another rant) aid this purely American feeling of materialism. Constantly "needing" the latest and greatest of things has dibilitated us to believing that there is nothing outside of what we can see and feel. Not to say that I am innocent to this - of course not, I am a product of my own culture. It is the balance of this - technology and meaning that can either make or break me in my seemingly insignificant life. Or even we as a people, in the large scheme of things - a shortly-lived imperial materialistic culture that is focused on the net profit and not the net knowledge. Don't misunderstand me. I love America. I love the fact that I am free to express these feelings of mine in the first place - a luxury many people in this world simply do not have. I feel that we need to focus more energy on the earth and nature and that of what is inside of us rather than what we can use our five senses to percieve. Humility comes from appreciating people and places when you're not expecting something in return. Expectation can falter even the best of plans. Yet simplicity can hold together the worst of them. Thank YOU for allowing me to breathe.
