What are you waiting for?

I began to think about something the other day, on how there are things that society doesn’t seem to tolerate. For instance, when someone commits a crime, does their time for it, realized what they and want to change themselves and do something with their lives, they can’t because society will not let them. I mean, once someone cleans themselves up, then all of a sudden they cannot get a good job, or even get an apartment because of their previous record, even if it happened many years ago it still seems to haunt them. So, as a result to this, a lot of those resort to going back to doing what they did before, heading back to the crime that originally got them in trouble in the first. It seems like that society just wants them to keep doing what they did before, and not move on with their lives. I know, some people would say they have to pay for what they have done, so they have to be punished and be an example for other people that are going to commit crimes. Also, there are people that don’t ever change, and just keep committing crimes till they’re dead or in prison for life, and even then they would still commit crimes. However, I don’t think this really tends to solve anything, especially if the person go back to doing what got them in trouble in the first place. And if they do try to clean themselves up, chances are they would have to be supported my the government because they can’t get a good job due to their record, which to me makes matters not any better because that’s another welfare case the taxpayers don’t need. But I have seen some cases where a person can get their record cleared if they stay clean for a couple years, all they have to do is call a hearing in court and have a judge decide if they are worthy enough for a clean record. However, that can be hard to do at times, and I think the person would have to get their own attorney for this, and that will cost a pretty good size penny. But the law system now is getting too crazy with a bunch of pointless laws, I mean, it’s getting to the point if you walk on cracks of a sidewalk you’ll end up going to jail. I just found out if you just did jail time of any kind, you cannot vote anymore, even if it wasn’t for a felony or a misdemeanor. Something needs to change about this, very soon.
