Icarus's blog: "Hurts to watch."

So I was brainstorming and free-forming this dreamscape I had a few nights ago

about this divine representative of another planet.
I remember she breathed methane, and wore an ellaborately carved device and ceremonial clothing so she could visit far off planets and scare the ever living crap out of them.

She always arrived as a harbinger. Someone that kinda ... closes down doomed planets.

But as I recalled that structure, I was reminded of Childhood's end, and decided to take a step to the side

What would Heinliein do?

I knew she was beautiful, powerful, holy, but from a profane world of wrathful gods and fertility rites.

So of course the alien descendant of mankind in an impossibly harsh environment would one day fuck the bio engineered over-sanitized protagonist of the elite terran descendants.

And no.
I didn't see Avatar.

*sigh*

And no.
Avatar didn't do it first.

This is an act of inquisition, not romance or conception.
"this thing's vaguely like me, maybe I can relate..."
Something that pops up in case notes and experiment notes, not the premise of a story.

So why tell this story?

Because we're in this exact situation. The devout in the impossibly harsh environment across the way hate us because ... for so many reasons really.

I think I'll try to cross environments, cross inter-planetary politics, and cross perceptions and points of perspective.

They're not so different. We're not so different. And there's nothing productive to it.
That simple logical deduction will not stop genocide.

Its in the early steps, I'll probably abandon it in 40 pages.

But its there.
It started blotting out
and I didn't hate it.

Sci Fi should mirror and satire our philosophy, politics, methodology and xenophobia anyway.
