Paper Roses...

These are the Actual Poems sent to and from Prison.
Paper Roses
The rose is the ultimate symbol of love.
The one emotion we are all capable of.
I know these paper roses have no smell,
But it's all I'm able to send from this cell.
This rose represents our love from the start,
And will hold a place always for you in my heart.
If I were out there, you know what I'd do?
I'd find the most beautiful rose just for you.
But, until then, I'll sit in this cell,
And send paper roses that have no smell.

My Replying Poem
Paper Roses?
Why send paper roses that have no smell,
when you know I'll say,"Go straight to Hell"?
No words can bring back my little boy babe,
that was laid to rest on an unforgotten day!
No promises - or even fabulous treasure,
can in any way start to measure -
the inner tears and the nagging grief,
because you made Matthew's stay brief!
So go through life doing what you do best,
praising yourself, and blaming the rest!
Connvince yourself that you will find,
God, on Judgement Day, to be merciful & kind.
Paper roses? What can they do?
Mend a heart split in two?
Paper roses have no smell.
Can they make our baby well?
Tears they bring with the force of a flood -
How fitting, your paper rose is the color of blood!
