Pandeism and Sexuality

The Sexuality of PanDeism I think I'm safe in saying that Religion and Sexuality generally don't mix.... when religion enters the picture, it's usually as a wet blanket, a dampener, providing a set of thuo-shalt-nots restricting sex to persons in the kind of relationship authorized by the church, and even restricting sex acts to those deemed "pleasing" to God (i.e. husband on submissive wife, penis-in-vagina missionary position, with the lights out, for the purposes of procreation).... Sadly, most conventional religions do not appear poised to lift themselves from the false dogma of sexual negativity -- certainly they are long way from accepting masturbation, oral sex, anal sex, homosexuality (for those who are so inclined), partner swapping, and all other activities consensually maximizing sexual variety, as the gifts from God in the way that PanDeism embraces these pleasures!! PanDeism may well be said to be the most sex-positive of all religious beliefs.... indeed, the sacredness of the pleasure of sex is a core of PanDeism, and one reason why it is likely to enjoy great popularity as it receives wider exposure to open-minded persons of a spiritual bent.... PanDeism the belief that God not only created the Universe, but in fact God became the Universe in order to experience existence through all of the experiences of the Universe (and thereby to learn what it was like to face and overcome obstacles and limitations unknowable to a deity).... PanDeism teaches therefore that God shares in all of our experiences -- and that our positive experiences, including our consensual and mutually enjoyable sexual practices, are nothing less than a gift to God!! It has been said, and wisely, that sex is not condemned by religion so long as it is within certain "moral boundaries".... I agree -- but of course, the "moral boundaries" set forth by PanDeism are apart from those set forth by those restrictive faiths.... in PanDeism, there can be nothing immoral about any consensual act between persons who are competent to make decisions for themselves!! After all, PanDeism teaches that God became the Universe to share in all of our experiences and in the consequences of our decisions, and so are our good experiences shared with God.... When a man and woman find mutual attraction in a smoky bar, and hasten to release their desires in a one-night-stand of passionate pleasuring in multiple positions, God shares in each moment of pleasure; when a man contracts with a prostitute to bring him to orgasm with her mouth, God experiences that wonderful orgasm (and the prostitute should rejoice in giving God that wonderful experience, which she will later share in herself when all things return to one); when a man is privileged to participate in a menage a trois with two sensual women, who pleasure him with their fingers and toes and multiple orifices and perhaps arouse him further by pleasuring one another as the man watches, God shares equally in this arousal; when a man (or woman) sits alone in front of the tv or computer screen and masturbates while viewing pornography or engaged in an anonymous erotic chat, God enjoys that orgasm just as much!! While monogamy (or at least serial monogamy) has come to be understood as our cultural norm, under PanDeism, our sexual practices are understood to be a fantastic gift to God, who shares in these experiences.... thus there can be few better lives lived than those in which the experience of giving and receiving pleasure is maximized by the sharing of this joy with as many people as possible!! So long as this is done honestly and consensually, it is no harm but a positive good to share sexual pleasure with others, and reap the same for oneself, to be shared among all in the end.... Now, there is equal truth to the statement that sex can be used to inflict suffering, which imposes suffering upon God.... and in the end we will also share in this suffering -- and the responsible party will have the most poignant experience of the suffering he has caused.... to force sex on another, through brute strength or through more subtle emotional or financial extortion is still an immorality -- although I lauded the gift of the prostitute before, that person must be acting of her (or his) own free will, and not out of a compulsion to feed a terrible drug habit or provide for an abusive pimp.... and further, some consideration must be given to the suffering that even consensual sex can cause to the spouse who finds him or herself cheated on, to the parent who fears their child's loss of "innocence", even to the complete stranger who is distressed that sex is happening at all.... but these feelings must be taken with a grain of rationality -- consider the racist or the homophobe, who is angered by sex between people of different races, or of the same gender -- this act does him no harm, so his "suffering" is irrational, a self-inflicted bogeyman; it may only be in the next life, when he shares in the pleasure of these experiences (which he may have denied himself in life) that he will realize what a gift he was receiving when these objectionable acts were carried out!! Let us not disgrace God by denying ourselves the wonderful gift of sexual titillation, the pleasures of sex games, and the ultimate joy of sexual orgasm!! An understanding of PanDeism opens our eyes to the fact that it is that denial which is the greatest immorality!! Bless Yourself, for Thou Art God!! //// Pacific PanDeist
