*rants*
so i find myself..slightly out of sorts..
due to the thoughtless words of a stranger.
if this is a normal reaction or not im not completely sure...but it is mine.
normally i find it quite an easy practice to dismiss the hurtful words of strangers if only due to the fact i know nothing of them and they...none of me, so what should their opinion matter...right? at least thats my own conclusion and thought process.
abortion is the kind of topic where...if you want to keep certain friends you simply have to agree to disagree and speak naught of said issue.
i have friends that have utilised said practice...i have friends who havent...i have friends who refuse to even consider the notion...i have friends who would consider the noticn if a situation arose in which they felt the need. im not required to agree with them as they're not required to agree with me...whatever works for each individual...
however...they dont tell me my thought process is overly emotional thereby laced with stupidity and i should conform to their viewpoint...and i dont demand they vary their viewpoint to conform to mine...tho lately some have given cause for a raised eyebrow but those sorts of things happen. ya roll with it, if you value the person and the friendship.
my parentals agree to disagree when it comes to gun control. everyone has that one issues...and sure abortion is that kind of issue...but i dont go around telling people they're stupid.
what ive always wanted to know is...what world exists where everything thats legal is a good thing. not that i expect an answer...or even a ration of shit...its just one of those ruminating questions. i dont question the legality of abortion. its legal. i dont think it should be. other people do. thus is life.
the fact people exist...who would have the nerve to tell me that not only is my opinion 'stupid' as sure is their right but when the same thing is spouted back to them they grow offended...but that my premature daughter wasnt a person...and that my dead son was never 'living'
sure the upset is emotional...but mixed with the emotional is the logical thought process of...who gets to decide...who has the right to say whats living and whats not...whats a person and whats not...
who are you to tell me that the little person who lived in me...who got the hiccups...who kicked in rhythm to a particular song...who did somersaults in my stomach is not 'alive'
so what then...if grandma gets in a car accident...and winds up hooked up to machines in order to survive...is she in the category of...'no longer a person'...or 'no longer alive' since she cant survive on her own anymore and is no longer a productive member of society...that only makes sense then..cuz sure she has a heartbeat and brain function and blood circulation...but sorry grandma...you cant live on your own we can pull the plug cuz somebody somewhere decided you're no longer a person and hey it shouldnt be emotionally detrimental cuz its legal!
