So here I sit, bored again as I have been for the last week. You see, last monday I had a little accident. While at work on an out of state site in R.I., a co-worker and I were unloading and ice bridge (see photos)from the truck. I had the side that we had already lowered to the ground, Mike had the side that was still up on the truck. When he tried to transfer it from over his head to his side, he dropped it. Instead of telling me, or even making a sound, he just let me find out the hard way. When his side hit, it rotated and jerked my side out of my hands; where it landed firmly across my right foot. That was at 9:30 a.m. After jumping around and swearing for about 5 min. I took off my boot to have a look. It didn't look that bad, just a welt acrosss the foot where it landed. So not thinking and more of it, I laced my boot up extra tight and went back to work. After working a full day I drove home. When I got home at about 4:30 I took off my boot again to see if it looked any worse. The low areas of my foot, away from the area of impact, had filled with blood (see photo). As I knew from previous injuries, that was indicitive of a broken bone. I went to the E.R. where it was confirmed, I had a crush fracure of the 2nd metatarcel with an associated dislocation. How's that for work ethic! Work all day with a broken foot! So now I am on workmans comp bored out of my mind. Well, thats about the end of my rant. I hope it was entertaining!
