It was mid-afternoon and the tribe had gathered around the storytelling rock in the meadow with baskets of the foods collected early in the day.
Storytelling was the only source of entertainment they had in their primitive times.
It was Otundies turn to jump up on the storytelling rock which was elevated from the meadow and smooth on top. He spoke of what had happened the night before and of his discovery at the tree and of the knowledge he learned there. He spoke of the fallen spirit of light that he found hiding inside of the tree.
Then he set forth to demonstrate how he brought the sparks out of the wood of the tree, but as he did so a spark landed in a tall dry bush that was next to the rock.
Promply the bush caught on fire and the flames and smoke rose high into the air while making loud crackling sounds. Those close by could feel the heat.
Some of those watching this froze in awe while many other ran away in fear of that they saw, screaming and yelling. For they had never seen such a thing before. Even Otundie was surprised at what he had caused to happen.
The flaming bush was soon consumed by the fire and did not spread because the green meadow was still a bit damp form the nights rain. Otundie qucikly went back to his hut but knew he would have to be answering some questions from the tribal elders about this, he needed time to think and to ponder.
And so it was the elders were already debating the whole event and what to do about this and a meeting of the circle was deemed paramount.
