What are you waiting for?

So Friday in an effort to re energize our feelings about our house, The Hubster, The Roomie, and I began to re-decorate and clean the two main rooms. In the process we found our eldest cat Princess passed away underneath the entertainment center. Damn her for hiding so often that we didn't notice her disappearance. It was a sad moment and we cleaned her up and then held a sort of funeral for her, with candles and incense at her location of passing. Earlier in the day i had received a recipe from my grandmother for '5 minute chocolate mug cake' perfect comfort food right there. 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE 4 tbs. cake flower (plain flour, not self-rising) 4 tbs. sugar 2 tbs.baking cocoa 1 egg 3 tsp milk 3 tsp oil 3 tsp chocolate chips (optional) A small splash vanilla 1 coffee mug Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly Pour in the milk and oil and mix well Add the chocolate chips (if using) and the vanilla. Mix again. Put your mug in the microwave. Cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little and tip out onto a plate if desired.

There's ten hours between us tonight And I feel like my heart will break Cause it's been way too long Since I've last seen your face What I'd give if you were here with me now And I was lost in your touch If I know my heart There's nothing I've ever wanted so much But to love you Just to love you It's all I wanna do There's ten hours between us tonight And I feel like I could die But all the pain would just Go away if I could look in your eyes And love you Just love you It's all I wanna do Cause I know you're the one That I've been praying for I could love you for a thousand years And wish for a thousand more There's ten hours between us tonight But tonight can only last so long By twelve o'clock tomorrow baby You'll be here in my arms And I'll hold you close to my heart And I pray you feel my love Until that day when time or space Will never again separate us And I'll love you Oh, I'll love you It's all I'll ever do Cause I know you're the one It just feels so right Would it be ok with you If I loved you for the rest of my life

More Thoughts

Its a sad thing, war. "Funny world we live in. Makes me wonder almost if I want to open up anymore...maybe its the world that holds the evil and men are just reactionary." -- Sarge Is it possible this is the end to the great "MAN: Good or Evil" debate? That man is neither good nor evil in nature, but just 'reactionary' to the world? Is it possible that Mother Nature and Father Time, those oh so beloved characters we always claim to destroy, are the absolute true villains to our story? Maybe it isn't that anything is evil in and of it's self. Personally I'm of the belief that man is inherently good with failure. We are in and of ourselves born as close to perfection as we ever will be, but with our good traits we have this intense capability to fail at righteousness. and thus we get 'Evil'. There are those that have a horrid sense of what evil is. It's anything different or abnormal from what we find to be the status quo. Anything that believes different, acts different, looks different. It's the entire basis of hate in the marvel universe Mutants are different therefore the majority of humans find them more 'Evil' then 'Good'. It plays into our everyday lives to, the ones that actually effect US as individuals. Look at fanatics in religion. Cultist Christians claim anything else is pagan and therefore of the 'devil' or misguided. Zealots of any faith have the same beliefs. It is when these maniacs gain control of young minds that problems can and often will arise. when they force children into their own beliefs and rituals, the world of tomorrow becomes one of intolerance and hate. I'm not speaking on any certain group, let me assure you. We are all guilty of it at one point or another. Yet these armies of children are in and of themselves their own destroyers. A close friend commented the other day on how our own generation is just a group of overgrown children, and really the majority of us have no real right to bear children into the world, as we are still ourselves kids. Generations before us would by now (at my age of twenty) often have been working good hard labour for almost 5-8 years at least. In today's world quite a few young adults don't "need" jobs until they reach 20-22 at the earliest, often then because they are no longer supported by dear mum and dad. If we as today's generation, are children, (and lets face it, even at work we often have toys to play with, many of those who've desk jobs capable of browsing the internet at leisure and running messengers via third party service) how so can we expect our own children, the 'hope' of the future to be anything more than us? Children will make mistake, more readily than adults would, because they lack the experience, and when they gain the experience, their attention is hardly ever on the lesson learned. They're saying sorry just to get back to playing sooner. How long can a world last with armies at war, armed with adult weaponry, and adolescent minds?

Blessings

Without saying a thing I speak it all to you, May you live all the days you want, And never want all the days you live. May the Rain wash your hair, The brook cleanse your feet, May the earth bear you sustenance, And the wind cool your flesh. Without leaving a thing I give it all to you, May you live all the days you want, And never want all the days you live. May your heart be ever joyous, May your mind be at peace, May your soul never grow weary, And your eyes see everything. Without relinquishing my heart I love you, May you live all the days you want, And never want all the days you live.
Michael Shermer posed the following question in this month's SciAm: Imagine that you are a contestant on the classic tv game show "Let's Make a Deal." Behind one of the three doors is a brand-new car, behind the other two are goats. You choose door #1. Monty opens door #2, revealing a goat, and asks if you want to stay with door #1 or change your answer to door #3. Do you improve your odds by switching? Dr. Shermer argues that you do. To quote him, "Here is why. There are three possible three-doors configurations: (1) good, bad, bad; (2) bad, good, bad; (3) bad, bad, good. In (1) you lose by switching, but in (2) and (3) you can win by switching." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr. Shermer is much smarter than me, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but I don't get it. I don't think the fact that it started as a 3-door configuration is relevant. In the original 3-door configuration, by random change you have a 33ish% chance of picking the car; in the current 2-door configuration you have a 50% chance of picking the car. Schroedinger might agree with Shermer, because Monty Hall obviously knows where the car is-but to me that seems to confuse superpositioning with discrete probability trials. The way I remember statistics, the odds of flipping a coin to "heads" 30 times in a row is astronomically low-but if you have already flipped a coin to "heads" 29 times in a row, the odds that you will flip the same coin to "heads" on the next flip remains at 50%. Shermer and I agree on that much, at least-later, in the same article, he talks about the fallacy of "hot streaks." ____________________________________________ Now I hate mathematics, but when I saw this posted in the journal of another friend I was immediately reminded of the movie 21 (I know I know, why must everything seem to relate to movies???) In the movie they explained that by taking out one third of the choices your chance of winning if you switched was raised to some 66% or there abouts, increasing the probability by 33 percent or something. *shrug* My problem with this bit here: "Dr. Shermer argues that you do. To quote him, "Here is why. There are three possible three-doors configurations: (1) good, bad, bad; (2) bad, good, bad; (3) bad, bad, good. In (1) you lose by switching, but in (2) and (3) you can win by switching." " is that by having chosen door number one and having the goat revealed behind door number two, You only have Option One and Option Three left. There is no option 2 where switching is beneficial to your cause anymore (unless as some have stated, your 'cause' is to get the goat) So his reasoning for why switching is a good idea, is no longer valid. wiki ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Hall_problem ) has a good article explaining it but i think a few of their visual aids are mistaken... lending that some of the situations on where the 'prizes' are placed have higher probabilities than they really do.
We've all been in one of those "If I could walk a mile in your shoes" type of scenarios. Those "Freaky Friday' hopes that we could spend the day in someone else's body to 'live their life.' There's only one problem with this hope. We're still us. Every time someone is shown to switch bodies, they maintain their personality and mindset, it's where the comedy and drama comes from in those movies. Even in Being John Malcovich they merely inhabited the man's brain... even if they didn't control it, they still saw the world from THEIR point of view. So what is the point? If we merely inhabit another body as ourselves, yes we may come to know and understand a piece of their life... But never TRULY understand them. We still perceive with OUR mind. I wish there was a way that you could completely switch with a person, and keep those memories once you switch back. Have the knowledge that it is YOU in THEIR body, but still have the personality and thought pattern of the body you posses. Then when you experience their life you truly do. You actually come to know what they feel and think and how things affect them. Only then can you have truly walked a mile. Also if a guy and a girl ever switched sexes they should so so with a close friend of the opposite sex, and for long enough to have experienced most all of that sexes ups and downs (sorry guys but yes if you switch i would hope it'd be mid menstrual cycle or pregnancy situation, what would be the male equivalent for a female to live through?) That way they get the full feeling of the other sex, and put up with each other so then they could look and say, "Holy Crap i get like that when I'm (when you're) on my (your) period" etc etc.... you know the dealio. yeah. I need to find countable sheep or something, these things get crazy.

WT and his BBoH

Wild and crazy times we have had Heat at your fingertips raced cross my skin And my breath grew still at the words whispered In the receiving ear, But sir you are welcome here no more. Sir you are welcome here no more, Your blue feathered friend Watches me from closed curtains, His twisted horn smile bending at my curves The trace of my finger between my breasts To the scar so jaggedly left by many But opened again by you. Feelings of words unheard Messages sent unspoken Rendevous never made nor met Sends heat to flush my skin so white. Sir you are welcome here no more. Wild and blue, the great ol' 'yonder' you fly within them, the winds, They're chilly warmth wrapping around you Your skin whipping behind you Trailing in a graceful arc. Your Blue feathered friend beside, Sir you are welcome here no more. I have no more need for a Wild Turkey Or his Blue Bird of Happiness friend A silver mirror heart in my chest, Will reveal that which inhibits me, And release them all in the end.

Times are getting rough

So I say a little prayer for all of us to stay tough: I pray for family; those who are with us, those who may not be much longer, and those who have gone on to better I pray for friends; those who hold me when I need to be held, those who I can hold, and those who I want to but cannot I pray for strangers; those who are sick or hurting, those who are in trouble, those who are facing terrible choices I pray for our Earth; our home, and our Source, may she ever sing and provide for us and we for her. And always I pray: May we have Strength; like the willow to bend in the storm, but not break. May we have Courage; like the stone to stand through the weathering of time and the elements. May we have Serenity and Hope; like the slow river to wind along its path knowing it will reach the sea in its perfect time. Namaste. Pass it on, if you feel so moved.
