Your Eyes

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul

The truth can always be seen I’ve been told.

But no one has eyes so expressive and bold

As he whom the strings of my heart does hold.

Your eyes are so beautiful; your eyes are so filled

With all the emotions and love that you give

Your eyes tell your story, they tell it quite well

Of a boy who is so perceptive, unassuming, and stealth.

They tell of the hurt, they show us the pain

That life has bestowed upon you, such a shame

For your life should be perfect and right

Not filled with the anguish you valiantly fight.

Your eyes tell of loneliness

Your eyes tell of grief

Your eyes so expressive

Of the pain that runs deep.

My hope is that one day your eyes will be full

Of excitement and wonder only true love can fuel.

For I wish you passion and happiness despite

All the things in your world not flawlessly right.

For if anyone deserves happiness

Darling it’s you

The world is your oyster

The pearl shiny and new.

Behind Blue Eyes

Behind blue eyes you can’t see the pain

Of love gone wrong and heartache

Memories of you drive me insane

Especially at night lying in bed awake.

Behind blue eyes are tears waiting to be shed

For all the things lost and unable to reclaim

The thoughts of you are constantly in my head

Things that were and how we’ll never be the same

Behind blue eyes is the love we shared

And the hope of a love that can again be

When the healing is done and hearts are bared

The tears will dry just wait and see.
