online shops

Changes in our shopping habits over the years

l remember when my children were small, holding a thick, heavy, glossy catalogue in my hand. l was very pleased with myself as l´d become an agent for the company for

the 1st time.

l was always looking for little jobs to work from home , so that l could be a full-time mum but still earn a small amount of money. My husband earned the main share.

Catalogues were a good idea for people who wanted quality goods but could not afford to pay out a large sum of cash all at once, but they COULD pay a little each week

, regularly.

These catalogues sold everything from womens and mens clothes, to childrens´clothes and toys, to furniture or tools... Almost anything you could think of.

The more customers l had, and the more money they spent, naturally would mean the more commission l received.

l once left my commission with the company until there was enough to buy a three piece suite.Very nice it looked in our sitting room and l felt as though it had cost

me nothing , although l´d earned it., because the work was so easy.

Years later, the corner shop began to evolve into larger stores, the huge shopping Malls as we have today, and now we do not even have to leave home, because we can

shop online.

online shops

My brain would prefer to go to a huge shopping Mall with a friend or 2., trying on shoes, jackets, everything. Then stop for a chat and some lunch, then away we´d go

again scouring all the other shops.....Sadly that only happens in my mind these days, my body won´t allow me to push my way around busy shopping centres for more than

an hour. Ladies, as we all know an hour is hardly worth the effort of getting dressed and driving there....

What a wonderful alternative l have now. Scanning websites of beautiful clothes and furniture and jewelry...... anything from my chair.

Online shopping is a great boost for people who work long hours each day and hardly have time to shop. Also for elderly or housebound people and people like me , who

now live in such a tiny place that l can walk down to the river and feed the ducks, but l can´t go to a large store because there simply aren't any.!!!!! It would cost

us more in petrol/gas to get to the nearest big grocery store than i does to shop online and pay for it to be delivered.

l must admit l am so happy that my husband loves cooking and now loves buying all he needs online. Yippee!!! He´s welcome to that job.!

i´m still quite new to online shopping but Amazon books are a wonder in themselves.

l´ve recently got used to the delights of scouring pages of dresses, shoes, coats,, all the wonderful choices that pass before my eyes on a computer screen. (not much

different really from looking through the pages of a catalogue all those years ago.
