Yesterday I went to see a band at a bar in town. I didn't realise, but the guitarist was an old friend who I'd been in a band with 30 years ago. He came over and asked if I fancied starting a new band with him to play blues and jazzy rock - he just needs a bass player.
I'm sure I would really enjoy putting it together and playing a few gigs, but there are a couple of practical problems. First, I haven't touched my bass for about 6 years so I don't know how good I will be (but I'm sure it will come back). Second, and more important, I have hardly any free time through work, and my partner & I rarely have time alone.
So help me out - should I go for the band and try to recapture the happy days of my youth, or give my free time to my partner? |
