I just heard on the radio this morning that a cyclone is expected to dump a bunch of rain and high winds into the Arab countries where it is feared to disrupt the transfer oil products through the shipping lanes there and create a SPIKE in prices for the price of gasoline.
Does this sound like the work of some spin doctor with an oil company so that they have a REASON for their next unexplainable SPIKE in prices here at the gas pumps.
For the last week here locally the price of gas has been dropping for at a rate from a penny to 2 cents a day. I have been expecting a sudden increase in the price of gas for no reason just like the Thursday before Memorial Day where the price of gas jumped from $3.18 a gallon to $3.45 a gallon in seconds.
Storms happen in oil shipping lanes and oil production areas all the time and has never been the cause of price increases before (except for Katrina).
Does this sound fishy to you to be announced on the radio as a "possible" reason for the next increase in prices at the pump?
To me it sounds like the masterful work of some New York Public Relations firm doing their job for the oil industry to give them a reason for screwing us again.
What do you think?
