Over the years the conversation varies from person to person but the main thrust always comes down to person a is in a bind emotionally... They're stuck in a stressful life situation but they love someone they want to be with but being with that person is going to cause another person pain, or make them an outcast with their crowd, or deep down inside they're not sure that what they want is right but they want to be with this person because they feel happy with them.
Person b usually tries different approaches, do you really love whoever? What about how you feel about person x, and didn't the current object of affection cheat on you/someone else? And the conversation usually degenerates into do whatever you want and person a makes the wrong choice 9 times out of 10 and is miserable...
Having been on both sides of that conversations I'm fairly sure the odds aren't too exaggerated... although I do believe I have over simplified things by a stretch.
The thing is, at our core we are powered by love and love doesn't make bad choices if we are honest with our selves. Sometimes that means turning away from "sure happiness" from that someone that is tempting us in a dark time, sometimes it means you have to pull away from people that depend on you and stand up for yourself and the love you feel. Yeah, either way it'll cause some hurt, but if you're acting from the core of love you carry you will see things through, love can cut deeply but love also heals... how soon the healing starts depends on making the decision, that tough choice, as soon as possible. Angling in "all the factors" is a delaying tactic people can seldom afford. Love knows what to do, the rest is up to you.
