Ok, so Obamacare is going back to the Supreme Court for a ruling to decide the fate of the states that have not created their own health care exchange rate. Basically this means that if your state hasn't set up a tax credit system of their own, they will lose the federal tax credit and make your insurance premiums their regular price (will increase). Having health insurance is mandatory now, so if you don't have it, you will pay a fine that increases every year. Sometimes the penalty is lower than the yearly cost of what you pay for insurance, sometimes it's more. I currently do not have health insurance, and will have to pay the penalty for not having any (not sure if I get insurance before the end of this year will it mean I won't have to pay the penalty). So here is what I need help with: Should I?
A) Just pay the penalty for not having insurance this year, since it will be cheaper than my insurance premiums
B) get health insurance asap, because you never know when you need it
C) other suggestions... (please list) |
