Hamas: We met Obama advisers Terrorist group says campaign asked it to keep contact secret until after election Posted: November 11, 2008 9:39 am Eastern By Aaron Klein © 2008 WorldNetDaily JERUSALEM – Hamas held a meeting in the Gaza Strip several months ago with aides to President-elect Barack Obama, but the terror group was asked to keep the contacts secret until after last week's elections, according to a senior Hamas official. Ahmed Yousef, Hamas' chief political adviser in Gaza, told the leading Al-Hayat Arabic-language newspaper Hamas has maintained regular communication with Obama aides that even continued during the past week. "We were in contact with a number of Obama's aides through the Internet, and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come out with any statements, as they may have a negative effect on his election campaign and be used by Republican candidate John McCain (to attack Obama)," Yousuf told Al-Hayat. Yousuf said Hamas's contact with Obama's advisers was ongoing, adding that relations were maintained after Obama's electoral victory last Tuesday. Yousef could not be reached by WND for immediate comment. It wasn't clear which Obama aides Hamas is claiming to have met in Gaza. Obama's transition team did not immediately respond to a WND e-mail and phone message requesting comment. Obama's senior foreign policy adviser, Denis McDonough, told the Jerusalem Post today, "This assertion is just plain false." Yousef gave WND a series of recent interviews in which he praised Obama as the leading candidate. Last week, he called Obama's win a "historic victory" for the world and told WND that Hamas was sending a letter of congratulation to the president-elect. Six months ago, Robert Malley, a Mideast expert described as an ancillary adviser to Obama, resigned amid a report in a London newspaper that he had contact with Hamas. According to some media reports, Malley is again representing Obama's positions in meetings in Egypt and Syria, although it wasn't immediately clear whether he was acting independently. FrontPageMagazine.com claims Malley was dispatched by Obama. Hamas is responsible for scores of suicide bombings, rocket attacks, shootings and cross-border raids. Its official charter calls for the murder of Jews and destruction of Israel. Just today, Hamas members took responsibility for launching dozens of rockets from Gaza aimed at Jewish civilian population centers. Last week, Yousef told WND of Obama's win: "This is a historic day, a turning point. I think this is the very first time in history that one country's election concerned everyone everywhere all over [the] world. Everybody is looking forward to Obama's change, for a change in the U.S. policy, particularly in the Israeli-Palestinian equation, which is the mother of all conflicts." Yousef said he believes an Obama administration will be more willing to engage in dialogue with Hamas. He said Obama's job will be to "restore America's dignity in the world and put an end to the wars in the region." Yousef took the occasion to blast the policies of President Bush, commenting he hopes "that after January the Bush administration will not be heard from again." "We are sick of wars and conflict," the Hamas official said. Yousef seemed aware his comments may generate some negative publicity for Obama, but he said he feels it important to "reach out and to express our thoughts and engage." "I praised him six months ago, some people tried to use that against him. But I knew he would win. Like everyone else, we expected this important victory," he said. Yousef was referring to an interview he gave to WND and WABC Radio in April in which he praised Obama and then found his comments had fueled a firestorm of accusations in the presidential campaign. In April, Yousef stated he hoped Obama would become president, comparing the Illinois senator to President John F. Kennedy. "We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the election," Yousef told WND at the time. "I hope Mr. Obama and the Democrats will change the political discourse. ... I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance," Yousef said. Sen. John McCain repeatedly used Yousef's remarks to criticize Obama's judgment foreign policy.

48% said NO to him

Only 52% of the vote ... that's what Obama got. Almost half of this country DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM, including myself. I did not vote on race, I actually researched both parties policies and voted for the MAN that mostly clearly represented MY VIEW. Yes my view, NOT the view of the BIASED media. And what the hell ... they want a friggin holiday ... April 15th .. Obama day???? What, he's better than the other 43 Presidents that came before him? I think not. He is just a man. And it totally OFFENDS me as a person who believes in the HOLY TRINITY, that he is being called "messiah". We already have a President's day which, when he is actually President, I will include him in this holiday. This "proclamation" is just absurd. I know he thinks his likeness should be to Martin Luther King, Jr. but ... MLK, Jr. was a clergyman, a Baptist Minister who believed in God, who did more for EVERY race of mankind than anyone else has in history. When Obama stops hating groups of people, I may feel more inclined to think of him in the shadow of MLK, Jr. I think it's funny, after meeting with our 43rd President, George W Bush, Obama is backtracking on many of his campaign "promises". The media is finally calling Bush "gracious" because maybe we don't know half of what is going on in this world, things that should remain confidential or we would have widespread panic in the streets. Just a few thoughts for today .. you think it's all going to be better the day Obama takes office? Think again people ...
First - what 401k was created for. The 401(k) was a central plan, a central tenet to get people to save for their own retirement in addition to Social Security. Did you read that ... in ADDITION to Social Security. It came into play during the Reagan years, and it was designed to supplement your own investment program, dollars that you have earned in a retirement plan that was independent of Social Security. And, of course, the way it works, your company offers you the 401(k). You can take a percentage of the gross, your gross pay every month and put that in your 401(k). It reduces your taxable income. Again, designed to SUPPLEMENT your own investment program, dollars that you have earned in a retirement plan that was independent of Social Security. George Miller, who heads the House committee that deals with 401(k)s, about a month ago said, we have to eliminate this tax subsidy. The government is losing $80 billion a year. We can't afford to lose this kind of money. There are too many people that don't need this tax break anymore. So what we're going to do, we're going to take away the whole notion that you get to deduct from your gross whatever you contribute to your 401(k). The government needs that money. Teresa Ghilarducci wants to basically eliminate the 401(k), and the way she wants to do it is she wants to go to people who have a 401(k), who have seen its asset value plummet because of the market plunge. So she wants to go back to August levels. Everybody that has a 401(k), we'll take you back and we'll give you money. We'll restore the value. The government will. We're just going to print some money here, and we're going to restore your 401(k) to its August amount. THEN WE'RE GOING TO TAKE IT. We're going to take your 401(k), and we will put it in your Social Security account that the government is monitoring for you, and we will invest every year 3% in government bonds. We'll buy government bonds so that your 401(k) will grow at 3% every year adjusted for inflation. The most that you will be able to contribute to your 401(k) every year is 5% of what you earn. And then when you retire, your 401(k), and plus there's a $600 annual addition that she formulates here because she finds it inequitable that some people get a 36% tax deduction and some don't because the various income tax rates that affect how much of a deduction you get. So the bottom line is, they'll take your 401(k) and put it in Social Security. They give you 3% a year plus 5% of your gross added, and then at the end when you retire, you get one check. Your Social Security check plus whatever your 401(k) is. The government takes over your 401(k). Not so much flushes it, they just take it, like they're going to take some pension money. Now, this is not centrist. This is not moderate. This is George Miller, and this is the kind of thing that Reid and Pelosi will go for. So what DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU if you have a 401k? Here ya go ... That means your employer can no longer write off their contributions to your 401(k), and your capital gains would be taxable year-on-year. In other words, it becomes just another investment or savings account, with no tax benefit at all, and no employer contribution. Instead, Uncle Sam would give you your “matching” funds — up to a whopping $600 per year! Whoopee! As Michelle Obama says, you could buy a pair of earrings every year … except, of course, you can’t. It’s in The Lockbox, defined by politicians as Locked Away from You but Accessible to Us. It goes there along with 5% of your gross earnings, apparently to play with the 7% of your gross earnings that already goes to Social Security. And what do they do with the money? They give you government bonds as your only investment option. Maybe you’ll be lucky, and they’ll have Franklin Raines running the agency issuing those bonds. The Democrats want to end the private retirement system that has allowed Americans to become a vast investor class and put them back in thrall of the federal government. This is nothing more than a second welfare system that would sit on top of the crumbling Social Security entitlement. It would leave the American working and middle classes with no retirement option other than a government handout. If the Democrats control both Congress and the White House, kiss your 401(k)s goodbye, and get into the bread lines first before the crowd arrives. I don't know about you, but I have been putting into my 401k account for around 15 years. I've worked 60 and 70 hour work weeks busting my butt so I wouldn't have to depend on the government's Social Security fund for my retirement. By the time I get there there won't be Social Security. I personally don't feel like donating my hard earned dollars that I suffered for and saved diligently to the government to hand out to those who don't care about saving for their own retirement and expect the government to pay their way.

A New Push for Unity ...

The Liberal definition of unity is not to come together, but to come to their side or get out. Just the first example: Because you do not want to mess with Barack Obama's choice as chief of staff, a Clinton administration veteran and Illinois congressman: The best Rahm Emanuel story is not the one about the decomposing two-and-a-half-foot fish he sent to a pollster who displeased him. It is not about the time - the many times - that he hung up on political contributors in a Chicago mayor's race, saying he was embarrassed to accept their $5,000 checks because they were $25,000 kind of guys. No, the definitive Rahm Emanuel story takes place in Little Rock, Ark., in the heady days after Bill Clinton was first elected President... ...Suddenly Emanuel grabbed his steak knife and, as those who were there remember it, shouted out the name of another enemy, lifted the knife, then brought it down with full force into the table. ''Dead!'' he screamed. The group immediately joined in the cathartic release: ''Nat Landow! Dead! Cliff Jackson! Dead! Bill Schaefer! Dead!'' Why is it when I read this I am envisioning Robert DeNiro in "The Untouchables"? Read this, a quote from the movie: "They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way!" See what I'm talking about?? Hang on ... this is gonna be a bumpy ride!!
It's getting kinda scary when even the most liberal media writers start to tell the truth! Jennifer Loven: writer for the Associated Press had this to say: "Even after nearly two years in the spotlight, little is understood about the 47-year-old first-term senator's approach to leadership. His resume: community organizer, eight years as state legislator, and less than four as U.S. senator. As a lawmaker, he has displayed a knack for working with Republicans on a handful of favorite issues." That's a lie. "But he has devoted most of his time in the Senate to running for president. ...Personally, he's a bit of an enigma, too. ... One of the many revelers who spontaneously flocked to the White House after Obama's win [was] waving signs like, 'Why Wait? Evict Bush Now' ..." So here Jennifer Loven: He's really an enigma. We don't know who he is. We don't know much about him. He didn't do much. His resume is kind of thin. Where was this before the election? Not in the mainstream media. Jennifer Loven knew this BEFORE the election, but did she write about it then? NO. Ask yourself this. What do you really know about Obama? What do you really know about his policies? Here's what some of the media are saying about the pick of Obama's White House Chief of Staff: "this is one of the most partisan Democrats around. He is a thug Democrat. He takes no prisoners. He has no desire to get along with anybody on the other side or traitorous leftists. If he thinks liberals are traitoring him out, he'll go after them, too. " If you're not worried yet, you soon will be.
