Hi! I'm Nikki. I'm 39, from PA (near Erie), I'm a single mom with a 17 yr old son who is the greatest! I'm a former radio personality (finally gave it up in 2007), and, for the past 7 1/2 yrs, a caseworker for the PA Department of Public Welfare.

My son is my life. He's overall just a great kid. He's an honor student (2nd in his class) and a natural athlete. He's into football and wrestling mostly (wrestling is his life). He has also done track and tennis. He golfs in the summer. He lifts to keep in shape. I admire his dedication and self-discipline. I really don't know where he gets it from! I don't know what I'll do when he is off to college, but I guess I have a year to figure that out! I am ready to make some changes in my life, take some risks, you know? Not dirty needles and promiscuous sex kinds of risks, but I'm ready to maybe give love a shot, take my career in a new direction, move to a new location...who knows? My son will be graduating next summer and I recently realized that other than him, there is nothing keeping me here in this little town. I have friends/colleagues in different parts of the country who have been very encouraging and supportive of me, my career and personal decisions, etc. They have expressed a great deal of understanding when it comes to my fears and insecurities, and they provide me with guidance and positive encouragement. I don't really have anyone like that here (not even my own family) and I truly believe that one of the keys to happiness is to surround yourself with positive, encouraging, genuinely GOOD people. They are not easy to find, but I hope to meet more of those people along the way.
I'm a deep thinker, a hard worker, and I do also love to have fun. But I know that you can have fun without hurting others, taking mind-altering substances, losing control of your actions or breaking any laws. Some people never learn that and they struggle with life because of the choices they made. I've learned it's really not so hard just to get through each day. I'm just a laid-back, fun-loving,hard-working mom. I'm a no-B.S. kinda gal. Say what you mean, mean what you say, and do what you say you're going to do. That's all I expect from others, although sometimes it feels like even that is asking a lot...Sometimes I am a little TOO open, maybe. If I feel strongly about something or someone, I have this urgent need to express it and I crave to be understood. On the other hand, if I feel disregarded or that the other person is disinterested or unwilling to understand me, it doesn't take much for me to flip the switch and become the exact opposite--very closed and guarded. It depends on how I feel I'm being treated. I really just long for someone to KNOW me...and for them to WANT to know me.
I collect stars! (I used to work for a radio station called Star 104). You'll see a lot of pictures of me with a star necklace or star earrings. It is kind of my 'thing' LOL. I have star trinket boxes, star jewelry, star lamps, star art, star keychain, star clothing, star purse, you name it. Maybe I added you as a friend because you have a star tattoo or a star in your default pic! :P

I'm a smart cookie--I gotz Mensability :P Yes, I'm a member of MENSA, but don't really go to any of the meetings. I love sharpening my mind with some good conversation/debate or by solving logic problems.
I need to laugh. I need stimulation. I am really drawn to people with a creative side--artists, musicians, poets. I could fall in love with a painting, a song, some words on a page. I have a lot of friends who are musicians. I still wanna be a rock star when I grow up, but I have settled for being a sometime karaoke queen.
I occasionally write (see my blogs!)--To most I guess they are poems, but to me they are lyrics. The music is still in my head. I'd love to "finish" them someday by having some of my musician friends help me get the music out of my head and create the finished song! I've only recently started sharing my lyrics. It was scary putting them out there for others to read because at times I felt I was being judged by them. It was very frustrating, discouraging, disheartening at first to see that people didn't understand what I was trying to say or made assumptions about what I meant by my words. I'm over it, now. Whatever kind of meaning my lyrics may have to you, I'm glad you could get something out of it and I'm glad to share! :) My writings are not all necessarily auto-biographical, but yes, the emotions expressed in them are emotions I have experienced before, and hopefully others can relate to some of my words.

Astrologically speaking, yes I'm a Gemini in the truest definition--dual personality all the way. I'm sexy and insecure, fun and reserved, shy and a total flirt. I'm honest to a fault. I'm fickle. I have a hard time making up my mind because I can always see both sides of the coin and my tastes change as often as my moods. I am hard to get close to at times, but once you break me down I am the most affectionate, loving person. My emotions are intense at times. Other times I am aloof and unfeeling. It's a front. Take time to get to know me and you won't be disappointed.
I love to laugh, love to sing, love to kiss and cuddle. I need positive, encouraging people around me to bring out my best. Those who treat me with disrespect and disregard will see the ugly side of me! If you treat me like anything other than the princess that I am, I am not afraid to tell YOU and your little dog, too!
Well, I'm mostly a metalhead, and I like it LOUD! Grew up on 80s hairbands (my faves were Ozzy, Metallica, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Ratt, W.A.S.P., Megadeth, King Diamond, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, etc. etc.) My tastes later changed to the likes of Korn, Marilyn Manson, Coal Chamber, Pantera, Static X, etc. System of a Down has been my long-time fave. But, I also did top 40 radio for 6 years and even a brief stint in country radio, so my tastes are more diverse. I love No Doubt/Gwen Stefani, Lisa Loeb, Letters to Cleo, Matchbox 20, Eminem, Missy Elliott, Nickleback, 3 Doors Down, Ludacris, etc. I love to sing, 24/7. I'm a total karaoke hound. Some of my fave songs to sing are No Doubt's "New" and "Ex-Girlfriend", Jodee Messina's "My Give A Damn's Busted" (fun playin with that 'twang' sound now and then), and stuff by Matchbox 20 or The Eagles. I've even done System of a Down "Toxicity" once or twice. My interests are varied. I love laughter. Funny, witty people, comedy clubs, fun with friends. Movies--comedies and horror mostly, or cheesy horror-comedies. I collect STARS. And Troma films!
