the bulit in wifi on my laptop seems to have fried, and of course that has to happen during the hottest week of this summer here.  this room with the desktop gets uncomfortably hot by noon and stays that way forever so until i can get a wireless card this weekend, i won't be around that much.  probably just try to log in here early and unload my 11s.

someone asked me for an update, and even tho everyone is in bed, i guess i'll throw one out there.

Monday was six weeks since surgery, which i believe is the halfway point to full recovery.  i'm still tired all the time, tho getting around a lot better than before.  11 mile bike ride on Sunday, a trip to a zoo yesterday (got some cool pix to upload) so all in all i'm getting around pretty good.  the physician's assistant really was impressed with the way i jumped out of the chair to check out my x-ray today at my first follow up exam.  (the doctor i have is pretty awesome..... he's like that old Groucho Marx joke "hey doctor, it hurts when i do this".... "well don't do that!"...... i have zero limitations on what i am "allowed" to do, which just astounds the physical therapy people, but its this doctor's philosophy.  and in this litigious society that we live in, i think that is a true testimonial to his faith in his work)

on a side note, evidently there was a foot fetishist as a contestent on The Bachlorette.  i've been reading a lot of blogs and i've noticed that everyone that takes the time to not only watch such crappy shows, but to blog about them, is pretty closed minded.  Everyone wants to say how creepy he is.  i saw him once, just flipping channels, and i thought he was hilarious.  Keep in mind also, they edit those shows to portray people however they want.  i'm sure that the guy had something else to talk about besides the woman's feet (i don't, but hey that's just me :P )

hope everyone is doing well, i'm trying to get here more often but like i said i seem so tired all the time.

so its almost 2 weeks after surgery, i'm stuck on crutches for awhile yet, but all in all i'm getting around pretty effin' good.  i have the hard core pain meds and some physical therapy exercises that I do 3x a day.  sitting at a computer desk is a bit uncomfortable, right now i'm in a recliner with the laptop, but to be honest i miss my damn mouse.  this finger pad crap is not for me.

evidently i lucked into a great surgeon with my referral from my family doctor.  he uses larger hip parts (than most dr's) to replace the originals with, which makes the joint stronger and should allow me to do all of the activities that i enjoy after healing.  in fact, he said i have absolutely no limitations whatsoever, as long as i can accept whatever pain comes with an activity, the joint can stand up to that activity.  i'm told he also inserts the joint at a different place than is typically used during hip replacements, which results in faster healing time.

the dr told me that with the size of the bone spurs he removed, that he is sure my life will be much more enjoyable now.  i'm already walking better than i had been before the surgery, altho with crutches, i still needed support to go any distance before.  also the limp was wrecking my lower back and my knee, those pains are completely gone.  i'm amazed at how much better my entire body feels.

i sure could use a beer tho :p

thanks to everyone for the well wishes!  i have a lot of mail to go thru so its going to take me awhile to get back to everyone.  lmao at logging in and having shouts from strangers asking me to make them pix.  gonna try and start logging in a bit more often, but at any rate, have a great holiday weekend.

in 24 hours, i shall be about halfway finished with my "total hip replacment" surgery.  evidently its a pretty major deal.  i'll be laid up in the hospital until Thursday.  Next week my mom is coming up to help me with whatever needs to be done as i recover.  my mom is a nosey biddy so i won't be logging onto fu while she's around.  (crap i gotta call her, don't i?)
