New Year…New Me
With the dawning of the New Year I have made some changes to my outlook that some people will not like. I have spent too much time caring what people think of me and worrying about the feelings of others and letting my feelings get trampled on. So, I have decided to change all of that. If anyone wants me to treat them with the respect and dignity they feel they are owed they will have to treat me the same way. I do not think that this is too much to ask. DO NOT come to me with ultimatums, I will not have that in my life. If you have a problem with me or something you feel I am doing then talk to me about it. DO NOT assume that because I haven’t spoken to you that I am mad at you or that I do not want to be your friend. I have a very busy life and cannot always spend the time that some people require. If they want to be my friend they will have to understand that. DO NOT expect me to give 110% while you give 10%, life does not work that way. If I give 110% you will too or you will not be in my life. DO NOT bring your “baby momma’s” or “baby daddy’s” drama around me. You chose to have sex with them, you chose to have a child with them, in a lot of cases you chose to marry them…grow up and deal with it. DO NOT think that you can make me change my mind. If you think something needs to be discussed then present it in such a manner. Give me your take on things and discuss it with me rationally and as an adult, we can move forward from there.
I am not trying to upset anyone or alienate anyone. I have just come to some realizations in this life. I cannot and will not continue to feel the way I have. Life is way to short and I have to draw a line in the sand. Beginning with January 1, 2008 the area around me is a “drama-free zone”.
