PuNkGuRrL's blog: "life in the quarter..."

So tonight Vamp and I decided to take a stroll down ::shudders:: bourbon street... been a bit since we have ventured down it and figured we would see some of our friends workng. (this goes without saying because the french quarter is so small so everyone knows everyone) We would stop to chit chat with our friends and make our way through the crowds... We walked into one of the stores ... it has been many months since i have been in there and they usually have some nice stuff... We walked through looking at everything, checking to see if there was anything that struck our fancy... I made my way over to the case with tarot cards and looked through... I did a double take at one deck and knew i had to have it... Someone once told me that this deck would work best for me...... the Crowly Thoth deck... knowing that i could not buy this for myself... i immediately looked over at vamp... giggles... he bought it for me... We walked from the store to his bar and i opened the box. (how i love the smell of a new deck) I sat the deck down on the bar and paused.... deja vu it was weird .. as i stared at this new deck, knowing the decks i have owned and used... it seemed so familiar to me... too familiar... I brushed it off for the moment and slid them back into the box so they did not get ruined... vamp and i made our way to my bar to see what was going on. We had a few shots... played some video poker... and chain smoked... I wanted to hold the cards again... i wanted to feel them in my hands... So i took them out of the box and began to shuffle.. not really paying attention to anything.. sitting there with a clear mind shuffling the cards... one card began to slide out of the stack as i shuffled... I looked at it and paused... 6 of disks now being a bit rusty as i am ... i went to the book.. just wanted to see why this card made its way out of the deck over time of the entire deck being shuffled... why this one.. . "success" maybe im putting too much thought into this but i had to pause. i sat there for a few mins staring at the 6 of disks... i was, in a matter of speaking, in awe... well it is jazz fest and i have to work in the morning... peace out boy scouts! im off like a prom dress!
