Inner Dialogue
White noise in the background grows louder in time.
Voices become clearer and then intertwine.
Memories twisted and old, forgotten lies
wrapped in a perfectly rational disguise.
Seeming to make some insidious sense,
it continues to thrive at your expense.
Will you let it keep you held in it's sway
or decide to simply just turn away?
This next one's a little dark.
Falling up
The tale always ends the same,
falling up and out of frame
with nothing left, but a name carved in stone.
Burning away each instant,
the variable constant
ensures that we're defiantly alone.
I'm taking part in the April Poem-A-Day challenge. Here is my poem for day 1.
Maiden Voyage
Proceeding blindly
excited, unsure
into the unknown.
What should I look for?
No frame of reference,
no map and no trail
stumbling in the dark.
What if I should fail?
I take a deep breath,
question my sanity
and step off of the edge.
What will happen to me?
