Now I can speak from my own experience .. I got my 10k Likes achievement 6-19-12. 

I had to buy a 4th Rockstar to finish the last 30 minutes of the day, but I was happy to have that option. 

MISTAKES I MADE:

I should have reset my abilities earlier - I did it later so I didn't save any credits, ultimately, and I had to buy that 4th Rockstar so it cost me 35 more credits!

I didn't plan ahead - I know my family would have been more supportive but I didn't know a day ahead I was going to attempt the 10k likes achievement, actually.

WHAT WORKED FOR ME:

Blast - As soon as I decided to run the rockstars, I submitted a blast for approval

Changing my profile picture

NOT putting GOING FOR 10K LIKES on any pictures

Global MUMMs

Adding videos & photos & entering the fuLotto

Pimp Outs - Most were given by family/friends who saw the rockstar going  and 1 or 2 were trades

Status Changes - I kept it light all day but when I had 8,000 likes, I started asking for help to get to 10k (and that's when I SHOULD HAVE RESET MY ABILITIES!)

Liking EVERYONE I saw

Commenting in the Activity Feed of every page I visited

Timing - I started the first of my 3 (4-hr.) rockstars I planned to run before noon fu-time so I would have a bit of time at the end if I had to go with a 4th one.

Does McDonald's say Going for record sales ??

NO!

They offer cheap hamburgers & 1,000s of places to get one.

If you want 10,000 likes or even 25,000 or more - don't blast the fubar world with your personal goal. Some people don't help just because . . .

If you have a rockstar going 24 hours to get your goal, there's your ticket, like the McDonald's cheap burgers.

You'll have people click on it for the points to help themselves, like they save money on the cheap burgers.

Don't use a picture that says GOING FOR 10K LIKES! It brings out the haters & green-eyed monsters. And do not say 4th Rockstar - another hater-baiter.

Put up your rockstars, get into the happy hour box, blasts and the feed and other places (check other blog entries for tips).

Change your picture when you activate a new rockstar, so they don't think it's the same person with the same rockstar.
You can even change your name. Say Like Me or New.

Post on your friends' pages  you are going for 10k or whatever and you may find others to help  from there,
but people who don't know you or your friends, you're giving them the option of helping or not helping when you
blast your goal out there in your pictures.. why? offer them the cheap points & give them tons of places to get them! 

Achievements are on a 24 hour FU DAY, not like the 24 hour revolving clock for Likes to level.

PLANNING is KEY!! 

Set up a week to a day in advance:

1. Pimps every hour. 
2. Credits to reset your ability points (so plan use what you have by planning to trade pimp outs or point boosts).
3. Blasts to begin at the start of the day.
4. NO MORE Ticker X X X .
5. Comment on as many pages as possible, letting good friends know you're going to be working on 10k likes the next day & leaving a Like on their page for the upcoming day.
6. Happy hours are 60 credits (don't pay $50 when you can get 65 credits for $49.99). Book the first one on the schedule for what's available between 4 p.m. & 8 p.m. then as 4 hours before or after it because the rockstars last 4 hours. Combine the Likes Achievements with the 2 or 5 happy hours, if you can, to take full advantage of the ability bling you'll be running & exposure it gets. (now you can get some hours for 500M fubux)
7. Set your homepage style to fSB style & note what is on that feed, especially what is there from fu's that aren't your friends. 
8. Have Firefox or IE set up for fubar to activate your Rockstars using those browsers, NOT CHROME. (this was an old workaround for a problem at the time & probably isn't necessary today)

The day before, go through this checklist 

• Ask all your family and friends to move you up to #1 or #2 in their families and to put you in their status the next morning that you are going for 10K likes.
• Blasts are approved.
  
• MISTAKE! It hurts to have a profile picture to use saying you are going for 10K likes. Read blog about marketing yourself! 
• Change your name to donotpimp ~ the reason for this is: they do not reset pimps until 1:30am. Rates/likes reset at midnight. At 12:05am that morning, you will need to be pimped. Also at 1:05am. These are actually left over from the night before. Around 8pm futime this day before night you can go back to your normal name to so if you get 6 pimps and you will be safe at that point. You don't want to use your pimps before that all day. If by chance you do get pimped out throughout the day, then don't change your name until 9pm futime. 
• The big thing is being pimped every single hour. You have to line these up the day before. Don't skip any!! (changes have been made to pimp out time limits now too - you don't have to wait an hour in between them)  

When the clock strikes midnight on fubar, your likes reset and you need to get started. It's pre-workday hours for some fu's, like overseas, who check in before leaving.

• Time to change your status to Like Me! Going for Likes Achievements today & your profile picture.
• Ability points reset at 1:30 a.m. fu-time, not midnight, so you can find who has saved you a pimp out, and the new day has reset Like button.
• Check the Happy Hour schedule for empty hours when double points aren't awarded. They may be bought minutes before the hour, so keep an eye on that schedule until it's filled.
• Clear your cache/flash/inbox.

• Abilities Reset your ability points here. Use what you have left before resetting. Click on Abilities Received for timing of pimps & count limit (I'm not sure it it is affected by level but at Level 51, I could get 6 before needing to reset my ability points). Let me throw this in here: If you need to SELL PIMP OUTS FOR BLING CREDITS say you are using them to reset your Ability Points TODAY in your status pitching the sale offer. 
• Videos Rip videos on the right side. This goes into fSB feed & makes a Like button.

• new achievement blog Scrapper's blog about Back to Back Ability Bling Achievement, if you are going for the Look At Me achievement with 3 Rockstars in a row.
• Bands! Voting on the Battle, commenting there, voting on a song on band's page, leaving a comment there (because they have friends/fans you may not have), much of this will get you into the fSB feed.

I tried out a Rockstar bling to see what it does & see how it could help Level 49s working for 1,000 Likes

  :) It gets attention for your LIKE button

  :( The double LIKE counts in your daily Likes but NOT YOUR LEVELING LIKEs (counts as only 1)

  :) It earned me 5M points when I ran it with a new boomerang (I'm a lousy bomber & don't get that many points from a bomb)

  :( You can get liked again but you can't like the friends again if you liked them already that day

  :) It was FUN!

   :( Only lasts 4 hours

 Maybe that will help you to decide to use one or not - but I advise you do not start it until you have 200+ likes in your daily count & that you keep at Liking & Commenting on others pages (global mumms help with them too)

GLITCH WITH MULTIPLE ROCKSTARS IN A DAY  is fixed, I think

Promoted Members Box does NOT restore your LIKE button under your picture with 2nd Rockstar & after!!

Need a lot of likes in 24 hours as a level requirement?

This is the best way, I was told, & used it with success:

Blast  - 1 day blast costs $10M fuBucks, limited to 1 per week or $7.50 cash

Submit your blast and expect to wait until Admin Office Hours before it's approved.

Weekend blasts are approved over the weekend but take even longer. 

5 MUMMS** (global) click OFF the Just Friends box and it will cost $5000 fuBucks per post

  You can time your "run for 1000" you can post 5 in the evening, then 5 after fu-midnight for 10 

MUMMS have been deleted recently by fubar & some users have been banned temporarily from posting

5 Pimp Outs (may have to pay but worth it)

Profile comments on every page you visit

all you can - ( d) or (b ) and  smile emoticon :) :-) .. varied to keep Mr. Bouncer away

go to MY > Friends and open a new browser tab to leave friends, new and old,  a comment,

even tell them you're attempting to get 1000 likes (this was for the 2011 level requirements)

- you may be surprised to find help and support you didn't know you  had

Please remember anyone, friend or not, may post a profile comment on my page 

Leave a PROFILE comment, that makes a Like button when it's posted

I also encourage you to post, or allow your link to be posted on any other page offered by a friend 

**A lot of people have successfully used global Mumms to generate a LIKE on the ALL feed 

for more than just their friends. 

The following information is important to keep using them by following fubar guidelines, these include,

 in addition to common sense no-nos such as racial slurs or NSFW in a global MuMM .... 
MuMMs could be deleted if they are determined to be: 1. Self promo 

2. Spam 3. Attacking other members 4. About Site Issues 5. About Staff
MY PERSONAL SUGGESTION is to stay away from fubar-related subjects, such as Likes, 

Widow-Maker, Blasts - that could be determined to be Self Promo 

- several mumms lately have been deleted and their creators banned for an unknown period of suspension

(and I wouldn't include any name of another fubar member in a mumm either)

Also, changing your status, name, or profile picture will post onto the Activity Feed on the fsB style homepages to your friends (I think it's just friends)

Other places with LIKE buttons:

Happy Hour - $50 or credits but  Happy Hours may not  be readily available (you can buy one with 500M fubux now on a limited basis)

Spotlight - bid to win the day before (take note: at Level 51, you are not eligible to bid - this has changed but I'm not sure of the new limitations)

Adding a Video - videos posted will put your mini on the big feed

Voting on a Contest - Band contest votes & commenting will put your mini on the big feed
