(Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays will look to end a four-game slide tonight when they match up with the Athletics for the beginning of a weekend series in Oakland. The Blue Jays lost a season-high five straight May 22-27. Their record has slipped to 51-53 and they are now five games behind Oakland for the second wild card spot. Getting the call for the Blue Jays tonight will be righty Henderson Alvarez, who has won his last two starts and is 7-7 on the year with a 4.43 ERA. Alvarez beat the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, holding them to a run and five hits in seven innings. Alvarez is 0-1 in two starts versus the As with a 3.09 ERA. Veteran righty Bartolo Colon takes the ball for the Athletics. Colon was brilliant on Saturday in Baltimore, as he scattered seven hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings to win for the first time in six starts and improve to 7-8 to go along with a 3.78 ERA. "Ive played with different teams that went to the playoffs and everything," Colon said through an interpreter after his last start. "But right now, the way that this team plays, the way that I see everybody, this team is the most fun Im having." Colon has faced the Blue Jays 23 times and is 9-5 with a 4.35 ERA. The big veteran will be trying to get the As back into the win column following a series loss to Tampa Bay that saw them lose the final two games of the three-game set, including a 4-1 setback on Wednesday. Jarrod Parker (7-5) absorbed the loss after giving up three runs on eight hits and three walks over six frames. "Im not real happy with it," said Parker of his outing. "They took advantage and moved guys over and played baseball." Brandon Inge provided the Oakland offense with a leadoff blast in the fifth as the As lost for the third time in their last four games. Despite the losses to Tampa, Oakland has won 12 of its last 16 home games, and 20 of its last 28. The As took two of three games from the Blue Jays in Toronto last week. They split a two-game series in Oakland in May. Cheap Jerseys Supply . Being bounced in the East Division semifinal by Hamilton last fall after winning Grey Cups the previous two seasons prompted general manager Jim Popp to drop some veterans and bring new blood into the defence going into the 2012 campaign. Gee scored on a putback with less than 1 second remaining, lifting the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 113-111 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night that snapped a four-game losing streak. http://facialhairstyleshq.info/cheapjerseys.html . Cleveland has been awaiting a second meeting with Kelly, the Ducks offensive mastermind, on Saturday to hopefully complete a deal to make him the Browns sixth fulltime coach since 1999.CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Reds manager Dusty Baker has made sure that closer Aroldis Chapman wont be doing any more somersaults after finishing a game. Chapman did a pair of forward rolls after striking out Martin Maldonado to complete a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. Chapman has been struggling lately, and celebrated his ninth save with somersaults toward home plate. Baker has made sure that Chapman knows he was out of line. "Its been addressed already and its over," Baker said on Wednesday, before an afternoon game against the Brewers. "It wont happen again -- ever. I know hes happy and things have been going poorly for him, but hes got to demonstrate in a different way." Chapman, who speaks through a translator, declined to discuss it. The Brewers were surprised to see Chapmans forward rolls, but Baker doesnt expect retaliation. He played three years with Brewers manager Ron Roenicke on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Asked if he would tell Roenicke that hes handled the matter, Baker said, "I think thats between us and the Brewers, know what I mean? You know, Ron was my teammate. He knows me. He knows me very well. He knows how I am. He knows how I do things. "Next subject." Chapmans had an eventful first half of the season. The hard--throwing Cuban was getting ready for the rotation during spring training when injuries wiped out the back end of the bullpen.dddddddddddd With closer Ryan Madson and set-up men Bill Bray and Nick Masset hurt, Baker moved Chapman back into a set-up role. Chapman pitched so well -- no earned runs allowed in his first 24 appearances, a club record -- that he moved into the closers role. The left-hander has struggled in the last two weeks. He had given up game-losing homers against Cleveland then Minnesota in consecutive outings before his save on Tuesday night. There have been several off-field problems as well. Chapman was arrested for speeding -- going 93 mph on an interstate -- and driving with a suspended license in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, in the early hours of May 21. During a series in Pittsburgh a week later, an exotic dancer claimed she was tied up by an unknown assailant in Chapmans hotel room and robbed of $6,000 in jewelry while the pitcher was away. She has been charged with filing a false police report. Police said some of Chapmans items were stolen from the room. Also, Chapman has been sued for $18 million by a Cuban-American who claims that before the pitcher defected from Cuba, he made false statements that resulted in the man being imprisoned. ' ' '
