I saw this coming a number of years ago, and here we are. We may be able to dodge annihilation, but even so, we are already forever changed. There is cause for some optimism, though. Most people have read enough history to know that Vlad the Vile is yet another political monster who eventually meets a sricky end. But, then, others like him are waiting in the wings, and the current regime in the USA is sympathetic with those in a variety of danderous ways. 

Oh, yeah. I am a historian. Not any particular type, although I have studied wars, but I have also studied things like special pigments used in Egyptian figurines and unusual marmots from a couple of thousand years ago that used to dig up gold. 

I think that most people on the planet just want to live a life of reasonable comfort and contentment ~ to feel at the end of life that fulfillment not based on a sense of perfection, but just a job well done. I mean the sane on the globe. Not the nonsensical. We have had enough of wacko, domineering control freaks throughout history whose souls are black holes, as well as a parade of limp dicks who are intimidated by them. Yet, here we are again.

For my part, a life of gardening, writing, doing graohic art, talking to friends, and reading would be perfect. Nothing very ambitious. So, I sure as hell get riled when global idiots make even that a hard life to live. I sm sure that present-day Ukrainians feel the same and more now.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is a call to arms in a world that sort of resembles the Pelopnnesian War on a global scale. In my opinon, things have decended to the point that the agitprop confuses even what sides there are. A lot like a global Conflict at Corcyra where the meanings of words were distorted to suit political interests. Been through that before, like when the word "bad" meant something was good back in the 1970's.

There's hope. We see it now in push back although the push is kind of lame and suspect, in my opinion. You don't align with enemies to align with friends. That doesn't work. Ukraine teaches that. Like, duh.

The way to get out of this mess is to apply clear and intelligent common sense. That's not what we have at the present time. When governments are stupid that way, it's up to the people to change it as quickly and firmly as they can. There IS strength in numbers when they speak and act. But mind how you act lest you descend into the muck of hypocrisy. 

Ukraine is the model of virtue now. Study it, since as they are going, so may we, if we allow the corrupt and vacuous rule us as our enemies rule their people. 

Don't be woke. Be awake.
