Long Ago...I Met A Lady
Long ago as my mind begins to retrace,
back to a time and a strange little place.
I met a woman just full of evil and brash
said what she thought, then gone in a flash.
Folks were left standing, still and entrance,
as she left her mark; they never had a chance.
Until that faithful day, as she would embark
and found herself standing alone in the dark.
She realized it was her who would obtrude
thoughts of her mind, regardless how crude.
It left her without a friend throughout the town;
she stood there as her smile went to a frown.
The woman vowed she would only forfend
and given time she knew she could amend
all the hurt, by the words she used to offend.
