So I bought my Jeep about 4 years ago. Within the first 2 months I moved and lost the title that came with the purchase. Then about a year later I moved to Arizona. Well without the title it was going to be a three year wait so I didn;t know what I was going to do. I searched all my things when I moved, searched the Jeep searched everything.
So about a year ago I went camping East of Florence, AZ with a co-worker and roomate and his girl. Friday night we camped and drank tons, I woke up Sat morning and did some Jeepin and then got the co-worker and his girl. My roomate left to visit someoneat prison.
About 20 minutes into bajaing it through the back country I came up out of a wash and my Jeep stalled. Couldn't get it started. After fking around under it for an hour we decided to hike it out to the road and get some cell service. Now there are no landmarks in the desert, so because it all looked the same, I couldn't find my Jeep again.
6 month later the Sherriff knocks at my door. He asks if I own a Jeep and I said Kinda. He asked if I knew where is was and I said Kinda. And then he said they found it and I got directions after a few days and multiple phone calls to the cops out there.
I go out there on my bike and track it down. After sitting in the desert sun for six months, 3 tres are deflated but it looks no worse for the wear. Its a Jeep after all. I put the key in, which I had left on the drivers seat, obvously we were out in the boonies if no one stole it. It turned over no problem, but just as before, wouldn;t start running.
Went home, lined up a buddy with a flat bed trailer and a big truck to come out and tow it out. We ran out of light before we could get it out.
I went back out about a week later with my portable air compressor and a 2 gallon gas container on my bike again. I was determined to get it out. Remember how I said I lost the title? Do you believe in mirracles? I opened the drivers side door, and on the floo, in perfect condistion, signed by the previous owner was the title for my jeep. I got the chills, looked around for someone messing with me. The closest person was probably 50 miles form me. I can not to this day explain how the title was out there.
After a recovery time to get my head on straight, I pumped up the tires, opened the hood, took the cover off of the throttlebody. I took an empty water bottle and filled it with gas, poked a hole in the bottom, set it on the throttlebody and took the cap off. Straight McGuiver shit. The fuel was dripping, I turned it over and it started right up like it hadn't skipped a beat.
With just dripping fuel, it would only idle so I put it in 4 low, 3rd gear and crawled that thing out and 2 miles back to the pavement. That same buddy came out and I drove it up on his trailer and got it home.
And then the bullshit starts. I could only limp it with the gas bottle on the throttlebody so I drove it a quarter mile to the closest mechanic shp to my house. Turned it in and asked them to fix it. This was the begining of December. After going back each week and being told 2 days, 2 more days, Dec 31st they called and said I needed a new computer. They needed cash for a deposit. So I dropped off $400, not knowing I was about to be laid off.
Was going to stop by the shop Jan 7th or so, but the shop was closed. All the cars were gone, for lease sign on the front of the building. GONE. I had been screwed. They took the cash and my Jeep and took off without even telling me. I was about to call the police for stolen vehicle but I guess I just felt that the Jeep and I just weren't meant to be.
March 7th the repair shop calls and tells me I have a Jeep ready to be picked up. $800 due. I had still not received any unemployment so. Ya.
A week ago one of their guys came by my house and asked if I was going to pay. They had tacked on an additional $700 in storage fees which was BS since the shinanigans they pulled.
Today I got back unemployment of $795. And I paid them $100 in cash to just get my fkin jeep back.
