First off ... It SNOWED here yesterday!

(now: back to our regularly scheduled programming)

I live in a small town with population of about 35,000. It's located in the rolling hills of Appellation Mountains in southeastern Ohio. Small and quaint community with only one high school -- no mall and just enough stop lights on the strip to piss you off. Our commerce is based on tourism ... not for anything other than we are located off Intestates 70 and 77. Our history is only that of a place somebody passed threw: Zane Gray's great trek went threw our town. A few US presidents passed threw on rail, while an Astronaut and (once) Presidential hopeful grew up down the road. (John Glenn) Of the short history and run down of my fair location. I'll address the biggest thing that's making history here ...

*pauses - for dramatic effect*

We are in the tenth week of High School Football! (hey, what else does a small town Americana have this time of year?). This little community is all about the Bobcats!

The Bobcats -F-O-O-T-B-A-L-L- this late in the season? Until lately -- This town is usually awaiting the annual last game. The G-county "Super Bowl" against the in-county rival.

That creates a little buzz and fanfare ... (well, it does for the student/athlete's parents) -but- We are usually awaiting 'round-ball' season in these parts. Now it seems our football program has emerge from the back seat that it's become accustom to around here. (at least the last twenty years or so). Our basketball program (until a few seasons ago) was built up to a state powerhouse while it was under the tutelage of a legendary coach. While our football program has been seen as a past time until basketball season ... My how times have changed! Now, for the third year straight, we our destined for state playoffs. This Friday it could punch it's ticket for a home game in the playoff's. (barring a very possible loss to our rivals) We could also go undefeated for the first time in the schools history! Talk about 'MADNESS' ... It's pure electricity when a small town does well in H.S. sports. I'll update you when and if we go beyond week 11 (we have yet to do that) I imagine if we did ... the freaking town would go "Off the Chain"! We'll see ...
