I sent some short stories to the people are Harlequien Romance Novels and about a week ago, they emailed me and asked me to write a full length novel for thier Nocturnal Bites Series. I have written some and wanted everyone to tell me what they think so here ya go. Let me know what you think...
“Oh, that is fine. I moved her from L.A. so I am used to random people knocking on my door at all hours of the night. I’m actually a night person myself.” Kari turned and pulled two bottles of water from the fridge. “Have a bottle of water. I’m afraid I haven’t been to the store so I don’t have much else.” She said as she slid the water across the breakfast bar.
“Thank you. You seem to be a very nice person. I actually can’t stay long, but if you decide to come out later there is a club about two miles into the heart of the town. It is called Darkness Reigns. Some friends and I are going there to have a little fun this evening if you’d like to join us. Say around twelve thirty?” Marandi smiled her dangerous smile again. Kari almost felt afraid to turn down the offer but she had so much unpacking to do.
“I wish I could Marandi, but I have so much to unpack.” She said with a small, apologetic grin of her own.
“Well, the club is open until three, and I will be there all night if you change your mind.” Marandi said as she sat her water down and turned back toward the hallway. “Thanks for the drink. Good-night.” And with that Kari heard the front door open and close ever so quietly. She felt some force coming from her kitchen window, like someone was staring at her. She quickly turned her head, but no one could be seen. When she turned back around and started toward the living room, for no reason, she stopped and turned back to where her and Marandi had been standing. When see looked on the counter she noticed the bottle of water she had give Marandi was still sitting there, untouched.
