Good Morning the Olympics banning swim suits? Oh this was a story that caught my eye. After seeing body’s literally pored into swim suits by both sexes I wondered which one of the Swimmers, Beach Volley Ballers, or even a few Gymnasts’s the Olympic board was banning… A Swimsuit controversy at the Olympics I am all ears, oh and EYES TOO! ( @ ) ~ ( ~~) hmmm my eye drawings might be banned too!
BEIJING, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Spain’s synchronized swimmers have been banned from wearing a swimsuit with embedded waterproof lights which they had hoped would give an extra sparkle to their Olympic routine.
“It got very sophisticated because obviously the battery doesn’t last long and then we had to look at circuits and interrupters, so we have been working on it around two months with a crack team,” swimmer Andrea Fuentes said.
“It looks a bit like Christmas lights,” added the Spaniard, one half of the team that won silver at the last world championships and are favorites for a medal in Beijing.
Swimming’s world governing body, which sets swimsuit rules for a sport where sequins are almost obligatory, said the lights were an accessory but Fuentes still hoped they might back down.
“This is a very conservative sport … their excuse that is you cannot have accessories on your swimsuit, but they are sewn in. If you use those standards, sequins are a type of accessory.”
Accessorize is a term I often heard at home. With three great looking daughters who no doubt took after their fathers looks…(snicker)… don’t you just hat it when those who write use the BATMAN style of event writings? Anyway back to the story, I wander with the best of them if given a chance… So Accessories are banned from the big “O” (hmmm…) Limpics don’t want to wave caution to the wind now do we… The whole piece I thought I was going to read was about swim suits that had little or nothing to them. Spain of all conservatives being spanked with a disqualify? Come on…I can understand another nation or three that would wear two rubber bands and a bobby pin and call it good…but dear Spain oh what is a Spaniard to do? I am with the gals, if sequins are not called an accessory then what about the flags sewn into the suits? I know we are biting off the nose in spite the face…and who came up with that saying is one step off of freaky…ewwww.. I guess in sports and sports swimwear we need to take a step back. Because if the Swimmers and Divers and Volley Ball players can wear swimwear thirteen sizes to small and show the world the goodie bag…let the dang Spaniard’s swim in lighted suits…Booo Oly Nazi’s!
