Well I love to rant so I figured I'd start a blog that contains whatever happens to be pissing me off at the time and my feelings on said subject...If you are reading this I would hope that strong language does not offend!!!
This rant goes out to stupid people who go on reality tv quiz shows!
I'm watching an Irish quiz show that takes place in a large glass box in the middle of Dublin (the capital for those of you who don't know this insignificant little speck of a country!) basically there are two people comparing their knowledge of various catagories, the champion, a small balding ginger haired guy who looks like he's never seen an outdoor activity in his life, and some woman who obviously has no chance against someone who looks like he reads dictionaries for fun but is willing to try because her mammy is watching from the outside (I'm not being snide they just interviewed the mammy!)
So far the score is 6 - 2 in favour of our ginger friend an she's missed some absolute sitters...name a flying horse, go on there's only one for fucks sake and my 6 year old would tell you the answer.....but no this prize genius thinks its a fucking unicorn! thats a horney (yup i meant to say that!) hourse you silly woman...next question who was the first Irish president...well ok if you're not Irish it's difficult but she's got an accent on her like she's never been anywhere but the fucking bog so she should know it...(can you guess) No of course not, sure how would you be expected to know that...just because you were told in school and because it's part of our country's history (and if you know Irsh people you will know that we take particular pride in our history much as the americans do).....
but my question is this, why did she go on the show in the first place? did she figure that a complete lack of an education, general knowledge of just plain common sense would somehow turn out to be an asset or was she going on for her 15 minutes of fame, so her mammy can boast to all the other old bats over tea and biscuits how her Jenny was "on the telly" last night?
Ok I gotta sleep now so I'll rant some more next time...bu6t just remember that if you are invited onto a quiz show try to be familiar with at least one of the catagories that you will be questioned in or you too could be the subject of a rant!
