Saved The Best For Last's blog: "My Life"

created on 06/16/2007  |  http://fubar.com/my-life/b92153
In the beginning, Andrew was your not your regular everyday guy. He went day by day, never thinking of what consquences his actions caused. He had the looks and basically everything women usually want on a guy. Finding a relationship was the least of his worries. He worked as a customer service representative at a big time company, but his life wasn't going to stay perfect forever. That's where the the real journey begins. It all started on a calm dreary Thursday morning. Andrew was hard at work, trying to answer as many calls and satisfy as many people as he could during his long work day. Suddenly a call came in, "Thank you for calling customer service, my name is Andrew, how can I help you?", said Andy as he listened closely to the voice on the phone. The call was basically the same type of call, just someone with problems that needed Andy to fix them. Small problems at that. Nothing of big classfications as an emergency that only he could help, but he still did what he could to help that tiny bit. "My computer was stolen. I need to know what to do next?" The caller questioned. "Ma'am, let me get you in touch with someone who would be more able to help you with this matter. Please hold on real quick while I transfer you. Thank you." Stated Andrew as he pushed buttons on his phone to transfer the call. Glancing up at the clock, he realizes it was time to go on his last break of the day, he heads outside. As he sat outside watching clouds move slowly across the gloomy dark sky, he lights up a cigarette. He ponders the idea. 'Why can't I find a woman to like me for who I am and not just like me for my looks?,' he thought. The time passes til the end of his break and returns to his desk. Later that night, while he is on his way home, he sees a light in the sky. A faint dim light that just seemingly grows in size. Drawn by the light in the sky, he slowly drifts to the other side of the road. The light in the sky suddenly disappears and Andy turns to look back at the road and realizes he's in the other lane, heading straight into oncoming traffic. He trys to swurve and miss the vehicles heading towards him at 65-75mph. Without a sound, everything fades to black... With feeling that he's been sleeping forever, he hears faint beeping noises and he hears voices mumbling words that he just can't seem to make out. He lays there on what feels like some sort of mattress, "Am I dead?"' He asks, as if he's expecting an answer. "No Andy, you are not. You are have been given a second chance to make a difference. To change the world and perhaps help people change their lives around. This is no ordinary gift that you were given, it is a chance to put things right that could be devestating to some and deadly to many. What this world needs is someone who has a different mindset and sees things differently. We are giving you this other chance to see if you truly do want to be the one that is unlike no other. To be a guardian, a hero, a true gentleman. Your only abilities are not going to be supernatural or anything like that. You are going to be given the ability to see things in a different light. In ways you could only hear about in 'Ole fashion' tales. Your mind will basically be almost reprogrammed to where you act and treat others as if you were living like they used to long before your time. Where people did what they could for others and never desserted them regardless what was going on. In return, we will take away your looks and make you look like an average to below average guy. Everyone will see you the way you are now, but to them, it'll be like you were always this way. Every girl you ever knew before today, will no longer know you exist and you will have to start from the very beginning on finding a relationship. But remember, you will have the ability to be something that no longer exists. You will be able to see life in a different perspective and realize things you never did before now. Good luck Andrew and may God be with you." Morning sunlight rays shining in on his face and the sound of birds chirping merrily on a beautiful Saturday morning, Andy Awoke in his bed with thoughts of confusion and mystery in his mind as to what had just happened. "Was it all a dream?" he said to himself. Getting out of bed and walking into the bathroom, he looks up at the mirror and realizes it was not at all a dream. His face, his body, everything was different. He wore glasses and he was very skinny. Finding the weight scale, he stands up on it, it reads '133lbs'. Shocked as to have read the scale and realizing that he was much taller than before, must be close to 6 feet tall. "This can't be happening? What's wrong with me?" Just a few questions that weighed on his mind. Major stress started to set in as he paced around the bathroom mirror, amazed as to his looks now compared to how he use to look. "Well, I guess better try to do my regular activities." Andy said to himself, as he headed back into his room to get dressed. Locking his front door and heading towards his car, he kept getting weird feelings as through everything was different and he felt weird. Regardless, Andy got into his car and headed down to the local department store to do alittle shopping. He arrived at Wal-Mart and saw a very amazingly beautiful young woman walking from the parking lot towards Wal-Mart. Quickly finding a parking spot, he hurried up to beat her to the entrance. Standing there watching her get closer and closer to him, he cracked a smile and when she was close enough he said, "hi, how are you?" With no response from her, except for a disgusted look on her face, she walked right past him and on into the store. Puzzled as to what he did or said wrong, he chased after her. "What was that look for? I just asked how you were. Is that so bad?" Andy questioned. "It is when someone says it who is not even a bit attractive and follows me in and around the store. Listen buddy, I don't care about your sad pitiful life. Leave me alone!" Commanded the woman. Stunned on what she had just said to him, he could not move. All Andy could is just stand there in disbelief, confused as to never having to deal with the outcome with what just had happened. He continued to attempt to talk to almost every woman he could find just to see if it to end in the same way as the first one did, but as his bad luck prevailed, no change... Down and depressed Andy heads on home feeling sorry for himself, finally starting to realize just how it felt to be on the other side of the conversation to when women tried to talk to him that weren't the best looking. "Wow, now I see how it feels when someone judges you basically by your looks. If people would just give me a chance and just take the time to realize who I really am and not just by what I look like..." "It doesn't work like that Andy. Did you care about these things when you looked the way you use to? Did you care how treated people regarding their looks? I am terribly sorry about this, but out of all the people, you were choosen to see how it feels and to be judged, just like you use to. Now perhaps when you see someone that isn't the greatest of looks, perhaps you will realize just how this all felt during this time that your looks weren't the greatest. You must look within your heart, regardless of the appearances and see what is within a person's soul, not what is covering their souls. You are one of my children and I want all of you to love each other and not hate each other. Do you seriously think I wanted my children to go through all of the pain that they do just because of their appearance? I had given them freewill and it is their choice to be judgemental on what they wish. I also wanted everyone to be unique." A voice seemingly coming from the clouds above. "I just don't understand. I am the same person, just different looks. Even if I am the most unattractive guy, I still am the same within and how I treat you is not going to be any different than how I look. I realize that after trying to do the usual stuff and talk to women, I see that it's alot more difficult when you do not have looks and have to depend on your personality. It seems just cause of my appearance, women do not care anything about my personality. That is just wrong! Perhaps even now, I understand I more or less acted the same way. Why is the world so much involved in appearances? It's just so hard and now I see the world has no intent on changing, if anything, it's just going to get worse." Andy stated as he started walking in the woods talking to who he assumes is either God, Jesus or even an Angel. "You have had the chance to see life in a whole new way. I hope now you realize what you have and how you should use it. A Challenge I give you now is you must find someone that truly loves you for who you are and they will see you for how you were. Until that time everyone will see you for how they want to. Do not lose hope dear child, for I am with you always and will never desert you." Whispered the voice, as clouds started to overcrowd the skies. "As long as you are with me, I am only able to accept the challenge and will continue on the path that you have laid for me." Answered Andy as he stopped and looked up in the sky. "Bless you Andy." ******************* THE END ***********************
