I have an 18 year old daughter, still in school, she will be a Sr this year and says she is in love & wants to get married. Well we let her go see her boyfriend under the impression she was coming back home on Sunday. Well on Wednesday I get an email saying she is going to stay in SC with her boyfriend & his mom(now keep in mind she has only met his mom once before). So from what I get from the two kids is they want to get married and she is going to finish high school there ( now keep in mind again she has 3 years at her currant school and is in band and can get a letter of recommendation for a scholarship from her band teacher to go to college and he is fixing to leave to go to the marines and they can not get married until after he is done with boot camp and is going to be leaving her at his moms house while he is gone). So I get on the phone with his mother and ask her why she let this happen she proceeds to tell me she didnt let it happen they were planning on doing it & I can't do anything about it because they are 18 years old there adults. Yes they are adults and his mother is an adult to and should have been the adult and said to my child I think you need to talk to your parents about it not keep my child up there under the only argument there adults there 18 and can do what they want. Now my daughters BF has agreed to stay here at my house so my daughter will not loose what she has accomplished here at her school to get a further education but before he left he said he needed to go back home with his mom because he couldn't hurt her like this and when he gets back home he calls her and says he cant come back because he thinks we are not going to hold up our end of the agreement( the agreement is they can move in with us use one of our cars and drive back to SC so he can do his PT with his marine recruiter there because he likes him better than the one he had here in GA first we told him he could leave Tuesday morning and come back Thurs night or Friday morning until he had to leave for boot camp he was in agreement with it when he left) So he talks with her later tonight and says he can't hurt his mama and also says that he don't think he can stand to be away from her so long (he means while she stays here in Ga and finishes  school while he is in the marines) & don''t know if he can trust her not to cheat on him while he is gone. He also said he don't trust us, her parents, that if he stayed here and he made us mad about something we would call the police and he cant trust us if he drives our car back & fourth to pt that we wouldnt call the police on him and hes mad because I cussed his mama out & called her a cunt hes really mad that I called her a cunt I guess he dont care that I called a stupid fucking bitch and some other names as well. Well she did tell me that I could call her whatever that she has been called worse so I only called her things she has been called before. The point of all of this is that my daughter needs to finish school so she can go to college and have her own career.  We haven't told her that she can't be with him, get married, or anything like that.  He seems to be trying to manipulate her, and that is what worries us the most.  She has to be able to take care of herself b/c anything could happen.  He is trying to alienate her from every1 she loves here.  Her grandfather is also dying of cancer.  I think that she should spend as much time with him as possible.  Another point we have been trying to make is that when he leaves for basic training, she is going to be there with his mom and no one that she knows.
