My Father's Father
My Father's Father
Has gone away
My paternal Grandfather
Just died today
He wasn't a man of money
But somehow he got by
When I was a child
Always a twinkle in his eye
I remember fondly
The man he was
From the "Albino Deer"
Really a goat
To the shaggy dog
Snowball with a white coat
The little shack
Where business was done
Oh, how it smelled
When hit with the sun
Though I remember him
From the time of my childhood
Not one thought do I have
That isn't good.
I mourn his loss
As do we all
And like the rest
My heart doth fall.
