I have this friend, who lives far away,
She has been the inspiration to me in so many ways.
Her throaty laugh coming over the phone line,
It brightens my day in so many ways.
Listening to her voice as she shares the events of her day,
I sit here and smile wondering if she knows how I truly enjoy these times.
Every time we have held each other tight, looking into each others eyes,
I feel the dark times of my past retreat farther into nothingness.
Since the day we first met and shared so much,
This friend of mine has become the most important person in my life.
There are those who may say that no one can become friends the way we have,
This I can tell them from this very real experience.
My friend who lives so very far away,
Has become My Best Friend and for that I will always love her.
