His full name is Leonard Rooney, we all know him as jut Len. Len was born in October 1961 in Georgetown, Guyana. He was always bright boy and proved this academically by passing 'O'Levels 'A'Levels and going on to study to be an Accountant. I was fortunate to work with Len for a company called Blanchards. It was a summer job while I was student, which Len kindly organised for me. He was a Managment Accountant and I was his summer slave. The was something unfair about this relationship, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. After all, he did buy me lunch every day. He was absolute professional at work and commanded a high degree of respect from his colleagues. The same respect that I think we all feel for him. If you know Len then you will know that he liked to keep in shape. He played cricket, football and worked out regulary at Crystal Palace. He ate whatever he wanted, but never put an inch of fat on. He was good looking and in shap, but never vain. Len wasn't married and has no children of his own, but to his nephews Nico and Avanish he was like a second father. He treated both boys like they were his own. Len never tired of playing with children and they all love him. When many of us would just want to rest or have a moment of peace away from children, Len would be one to keep going and going and going. He was the template for the perfect son, the perfect brother, the perfect uncle and the perfect friend. he had a immense amount of love and respect for his parents, sisters, brother, uncles, aunts...Where do you stop. His family and friends all loved and respected him in return. It is very difficult to remember Len with any other expression on his face, but a grin or a laugh. He was a happy, lively don't let the party stop type of man. His love of life was second only to his love and compassion for his family. In his 35 years he lived more than most 70 year olds. None of us will ever forget his infectious laughter or the way he always made us feel good whenever we were with him. We will all carry a piece of him around with us until we finally embrace him again. I am sure that he is up there right now greving for our grief. Trying to tell us that everything is OK, that the party isn't over, it's just changed venue. Well my friend, from every one of us her and from those not fortunate enough to be here, we miss you and we love you.
