--Just an update, since the Wed Reviews didn't do as well as I thought they would, I'm now doing reviews WITH recipe's at the end. Kind of like "Dinner and a Movie" but with less work. This is more like Entree and a Song... Thank Veruca for the idea!--
To me, being from the recording industry and having been there for many years, cover bands are either really good, or really bad. And usually given enough liquid courage, both versions of cover bands can be quite entertaining. This band here from Taylor called "Ratz Ass" is a cover band that is good at what they do since you can hear the passion in the music, but still have the fun energy that unique original music bands have.
On a side note, I don't particularly like cover bands, since it's almost like live Kareoke. ANyone can do it. This is just my opinion since I've been in cover bands and we've invited other people on stage to sing songs that I know they could sing better then whoever it was singing at the time. I prefer the creativity of new music created from collective drunk minds. But this is just me, since there are people that love going to bars that have cover bands. Hell, down in Tennessee you'll only find cover bands. I went to 10 different places and all 10 of them had cover bands playing.
Anyways, here's their myspace page with the music and videos since I can't link from myspace to here:

These guys are a very good cover band with the lead singer's voice as close as I've ever heard to a Janis Joplin with the full scream and rasp that only rivaled the great one herself.
To be honest, I would love to hear this band play some original music!
