Good grief I actually know people like this. Enjoy, Hugs Kat Dearest Son, I'm writing this slow because I know you can' t read Fast. We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents Happen within 20 miles of your home, so we moved. I Won't be able to send you the address because the last West Virginia family that lived here took the house Numbers when they moved so they wouldn't have to Change their address. This place is really nice. It even has a washing Machine. I'm not sure about it. I put a load of Clothes in and pulled the chain. We haven't seen them Since. The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last Week; the first time for three days and the second Time for four days. About that coat you wanted me to send; your Uncle Billy Bob said it would be too heavy to send in the Mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put Them in the pockets. Bubba locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were Really worried because it took him two hours to get me And your father out. Your sister had a baby this morning, but I haven't Found out what it is yet so I don't know if you are an Aunt or uncle. Uncle Bobby Ray fell into a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out but he fought them off And drowned. We had him cremated, he burned for three Days. Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pickup Truck. Butch was driving He rolled down the window and Swam to safety. Your other two friends were in the Back. They drowned because they couldn't get the Tailgate down! People here are always God Blessing you. How come they Knew you have a cold and I didn't? There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much Out of the normal has happened. Your Favorite Aunt, Mom
CHICAGO (Reuters) - A U.S. retailer has been deluged with angry messages since an employee sent an e-mail to an American soldier in Iraq saying "if you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq." Bargain Suppliers of West Allis, Wisconsin, took down its Discount Mats Web site after voice messages and e-mails poured in following the January 16 message to Army Sgt. Jason Hess by the unnamed, and now former, employee. Hess, serving at an Army base in Taji, had sent the company an e-mail asking if it could ship its foam-rubber floor matting to an Army Post Office in Iraq. The response sent later that day said: "We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq." The Veterans of Foreign Wars said it applauded the company for firing the worker. "It was totally out of line for any employee to interject personal feelings into what was a normal business transaction," VFW Commander-in-Chief Gary Kurpius said in a statement. "Supporting our troops is not an acknowledgment that you support the politics of the war." Bargain Suppliers' vice president, Sajid Nasir, apologized in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and said some of the messages had left him fearful I tell my peers over and over.... the power of the people is mighty! Most people do not complain... they go silent! Silence is a killer to business! So is the grapevine! This is excellent on two levels. One.It shows the respect for our troops and justice, is alive and well. It does not matter what our platform on war... our people deserve our respect and support. Second level... it reaffirms my knowledge that, in business, the swing will come back. The customer/client/visitor/ is always first. Business wants/belief/policies are second. Without people... no business can exist. Money is the by-product, of society, not the wheel itself. It may turn it, but without the other, there is nothing to turn! Technology just gives more power to the grapevine and a swifter fall of the axe! Thanks Everyone for giving voice to this matter. We do count! Kathy :)
This Wisconsin company needs to hear from all of us who support our Troops whether they believe in the War or not. No company who enjoys the benefits our Nation should respond in this rude manner. Music in Our soul

I have had music in my life from the time I was a tiny girl. Dad's guitar was never put away. We always had the Friday or Saturday night neighbour parties. If they weren't pulling into our yard, we were pulling into theirs. Everyone could sing... even those of us who couldn't! :) Country and old time gospel were the mainstay of the prairies but throw in Christian Worship, bluegrass, good old rock, bit of folk and the eclectic selection made it impossible for anyone to be left out. My fingers are tender this week (2007 mission to get back to playing!). It felt strange to pick up a guitar again. I really don't have a reason not to use nylon strings... just my Dad's voice in my head saying... you want to get really music out of those strings... get the nylon garbage off! Steel and callous's are the only way to go! Perhaps, but tomorrow I am heading out to get a pick. I am a suck! It is strange......the voices that go through our head. Words from when we were younger. Opinions of those we loved, and how they influenced our lives. Decisions we make, because someone hit a softspot and our lack of self-confidence made us think others knew us, better than we did ourselves. Taking too long to learn an instrument meant, perhaps it isn't something I can learn. Or... perhaps it just took a right handed teacher a lot longer to teach a left hander? Life is like that.......people knock others and try to change people into their fiw of how we should act and behave. Rather than adapt themselves, they try to make others become their norm. Why not just let everyone be individuals? If they are not hurting, taking, infringing on my space... I don't care how they act, behave, or look. I have the choice to walk away. I think my awesome aunt said it the best. I asked her once why she never rolled her eyes or complained or got upset. Why she never said ,'Oh Kathy!' in that tone that told me I had fouled up again. She told me it was easy for her to see my possibilities and reasons for me doing things. She told me that she only had to love me. My actions were not a reflection of her parenting skills, so she was only blessed with getting to love me. She told me that when people personalize things and try to change another person, it was because they were scared how outsiders would associate them with the person they wanted to change. The person made them uncomfortable and rather than change themselves, they try to make the other change. Music is a wonderful equalizer. Switch to whatever genre we want, all will express emotion, values, thoughts, goals, dreams, feelings. Money doesn't make the world go round - music does! Kathy :)
