What are you waiting for?
Was written in 2012 when I was asked to write a rondou poem in my creative writing class. Or maybe this was supposed to be a sonnet... I don't remember. I'll probably check it out after I post to see which it was. Oh, and I love wolves which is where my inspiration came from.
A wolf howls at the dark, lonely skies-
a statement to the world about his fate.
A wolf runs free to save his life from lies.
Killing without a cause, desperate to win,
humans are no longer friends of the Earth.
Armed to the brim, they want animal skin.
They do not know what a wolf's life is worth.
If they would only open their eyes,
they would see just how majestic they are.
The next generation of wolf pups cries
as the wolf's body is thrown into the car.
A wolf howls to the sweet morning sky,
Lamenting to his pack the final good-bye.
