What are you waiting for?
Since 20 January, 2008, I have watched as our President, supposedly the leader of our great country and a representative of Americans everywhere, bow and scrape before the leaders of other countries as he apologized for one transgression after another. I found the pictures (photo ops?) of the president bowing to the Saudis and others offensive. True, they should be treated with respect, but gravel? Never! Surely, he has someone on his staff who knows something of ettiquette, someone who knows the proper way and the meanings of the ways to bow to the Japanese Emperor, for instance. So, either he did the bowing and apologizing by mistake, or he did it intentionally, believing America has a lot for which to apologize. Mr. President, you do not speak for ME! I am an American! I will not apologize for being an American!
Yesterday, he made a speech laying out his vision of the Middle East, calling for Israel to go back to the pre-1967 borders which would provide little or no security for the state. I absolutely agree with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, that this stand by Obama is completely indefensible. The United States has backed the existing borders since 1967. Obama's foreign policy in the Middle East apparently is to back or look the other way to countries striving for the demise of Israel, like Syria and Iran, while muddling things for countries who, while not great friends to Israel, at least are peace treaty signaturees, such as Egypt. The current unrest in the Arab world, this Arab Spring, actually started with the election unrest in Iran in 2009. Where was Obama during that? Definitely not out front cheering on freedom. So, Mr. President, concerning your Middle East policy, you do not speak for ME!
Today, Obama meets with Netanyahu in Washington. His first meeting didn't go very well. He snubbed the Prime Minister, practically ignoring him. This time needs to be different! He needs to forget the idea that he, who hasn't fought for anything in his life except election, can dictate terms of someone, who has actually fought for the survival of his country as a commando in the IDF, concerning the security of Israel. Our only friend in the region, and a great one in the war on terror, is Israel. To say anything else, well, Mr. President, you do not speak for ME!
If ever there was a time for bowing and apologizing, it is now, for you speech and your vision of a Middle East without Israel and ruled by Iran is absolutely misguided. Mr President, your speech did not speak for ME! It didn't speak for AMERICA! America stands with Israel!
