Wasn't sure what to expect from this movie because all I really got from the previews was that a captain saved a bunch of lives by landing a plane. Not a huge drama fan but since I am a Denzel Washington fan I watched it anyways. Basically the film focuses more on the alcoholism of the main character and his struggles, all the while being the captain of a plane that landed a plane in a spectacular way. A hero that people didn't really know until everything finally comes to head. Overall the movie is good and interesting but the focus on the alcoholism drove me nuts at times. 3 out of 5, but if you like drama it would probably be a 5 out of 5.
Fun Size is one of those teenage comedy / love stories. The main story is basically about a kid that stopped talking once his father died a year ago, but is totally off the wall with everything else he does. During holloween somehow he ditches his sister and her bestfriend and has an adventure of his own with a lot of different people along the way. The second story line is a nerdy boy in love the hot but nerdy sister of the little kid. It was a normal teenage movie and was made by nickelodeon so it isn't as vulgar and dirty as I like my movies, but if you like fun loving teenage comedies then this is okay for you. 2 out of 5.
Sinister is about a writer that studies murders and also points out what the police miss while investigating. His family moves to a new city so he can study a brutal murder that also results in a missing child. During all of this he stumbles upon a pattern of murders along with a mystery face and symbols in what he studies. It is basically an occult type movie with a few good scares and some suspense. Also I was actually pretty happy about the way the movie ended. All in all I give it a 3 out of 5.
Wasn't completely bad in my opinion. It was the normal inspirational comedy where the underdog rises above all the things that could possibly hold him down. Always love Henry Winkler in comedies and Kevin James has been funny in most of the movies he has been in. It had its funny parts and the beautiful Salma Hayek who doesn't have a huge part in the movie but does play her role pretty well being the love interest.
I found that Dax and Kristen had great chemistry in this film, but since they are together in real life that would make total sense. The chemistry and the driving were the only things that made this movie watchable. Tom Arnold was way to annoying in this movie, even though he usually is in every movie. Bradley Cooper's character okay but I'm not exactly sure why they gave the character dreads.
So I have wanted to see Chronicle since it came out earlier this year, but just now finally got around to it. I think the movie itself was going for the normal "how normal people get super powers" angle of finding some sort of alien glowing thing and getting close to it. The movie had a lot of potential and its always fun watching people learn and use the powers. I believe it was to obvious the outcast was going to go power hungry and one of the other two was going to take care of it. Ending was sudden and inevitable.
