My bf and I live in pennsylvania. I have lived here my whole life and he is originally from maryland anve moved here to be with me. He had a job lined up before he came. Well, in February he lost that job and has been looking ever since. The problem is the job market here is pretty poor and not a lot of opportunity here. In the meantime, I am having issues at my job with co-workers. I am a court stenographer in a courthouse and I recently found out that due to some difficulties I had in my personal life last year, I had become the subject of many rumors here. I just feel like nobody here takes me seriously anymore, that I am constantly under a microscope and being judged all the time. I feel that I am the laughing stock in this place and that my reputation is ruined.
I have a brother who lives in Georgia and has been there for 18 years. They moved because my sis-in-law had a job offer they couldn't pass up. They packed up their 3 kids, and moved. They have been flourishing ever since. There is opportunity after opportunity there. The county they live in is the fastest growing in the country. I have come to the conclusion that I am ready for a fresh start, new and better opportunities. I have always felt that I needed to stay here because of my parents but I am still torn. My dad is old school and was upset with me when I said I wanted to move to Georgia...
so what should I do? Follow my dreams and try to better my life or stay for my dad's sake so he isn't heartbroken :( thanks! |
