There Are Moments
Moments when my heart skips a beat at the sight of you.
Moments when my breath catches, unable to escape, in my throat.
Moments when every fiber of my being cries out to just touch you.
Moments when I question the sanity of my own being in the fanciful notions.
Moments when I am alone, sobbing for the loss of your company.
Moments when this life seems futile at best with you missing from it.
Moments when you leave me, always a petite morte, leaving me afraid.
Moments when I need you desperately but I am afraid to reach out.
Moments when my body betrays me, yearning to belong to you alone.
Moments when thoughts of you ravenously consume my soul.
Moments when thoughts of what we can be to one another overwhelm me.
Moments when I feel I will never break free from the chains that hold me down.
Moments when I wonder where I have taken the wrong turn along the path.
Moments when I question my purpose here in this vast world.
And then there are the other Moments
Moments when catching the glimpse of you sends my soul soaring.
Moments when I can almost breathe your soul into mine.
Moments when memory of what your touch must feel like upon my skin.
Moments when your desires come shining through like a beacon to a lost ship.
Moments when my course is set against the odds, certain we belong together.
Moments when you keep me close, drying my tears, satisfying the needs of a companion.
Moments when life seems to be bursting with promise of a future so bright.
Moments when you stay longer, showing me you too do not wish to be apart.
Moments when you remind me that I do not walk this path alone, and you take my hand.
Moments when you reach for me without a word to assure me it will be fine.
Moments when you say that you burn for my womanhood, like a wildfire out of control.
Moments when thoughts of what we will become sooth me like a calm ocean breeze.
Moments when with you I am set free to be myself, no need for masks or disguises.
Moments when I know without wrong turns I may have never found passage to you.
Most of all, Moments of clarity and growth for this I thank you.
For without you being the unique, wonderful person you are,
I may have never begun to realize the person I am meant to be.
These are the Moments that make life worth the journey.
