It's not that I don't appreciate beauty like the next guy, it's just that society has put way TOO much emphasis on it!Because of all of the "Glamour" floating around in Hollywood, it has made our nation to concentrated on the exterior aesthetics! Models have taken us by storm since the latter part of the 70's, & it seems like there is no slowing down! I was in a conversation about this earlier with someone, & that is what has brought this blog to a head!
I made a folder in my pics, to showcase two of the many beauties on Fubar! It started out a joke, it still is a joke, & will remain a joke (until I delete it)! I'm not knocking the two gorgeous women in it, only pointing out how shallow a society has become, when people are more focused on gaining approval & validation from others telling us we are "Hot or Not"!*Shakes head in shame* We should be ashamed of ourselves! Since when is it more important what others think, than what we think of ourselves?
There was a show of the above said name "Hot or Not"... it aired on National television a few years ago! Some of you may not remember it, for it didn't last long & soon went the way of all television shows that don't make it, the cutting room floor! But the little of it I saw, & could make myself stomach... it made me realize how unsatisfied & empty the youth of our generation has become! That people need to know whether someone else thinks they're good looking or not, the relevance of it amazes me! But, I guess to each their own!
I know that some of you will say " Well if you feel that way, why would you join a site like this?" That is a very valid question, & I have a very logical answer! I created my account as a joke, and because I had friends asking me to join... so I mostly did it to satisfy their seeming urgency! I'm not saying that there are other points to a place like this, but that seems to be one of them! Why else would you be allowed to "Rate" people? I guess as long as insecurities thrive, people will always be looking for some form of approval! And I think that is o.k.! It's natural for human beings to need that! I just want people to not be ignorant to that fact, so they may better know themselves & their own worth!
And in closing, getting back to the airbrushed women of this topical... Models are people too! I understand they have feelings, & deserve to be treated equally, but it's hard for people not to elevate (or put down, depending)people who are portrayed as so utterly physically "perfect"! I just think people need to remember that at one time, they were "regular" people too! They eat, drink, sleep, & poo, just like you & me! Thank you for reading this... I try to be informative, as well as liberal at the same time! Lol
