The British Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has confirmed that one of their citizens is facing the death penalty for selling marijuana.
A 21-year-old British man and a 19-year-old Syrian man was found guilty by an Abu Dhabi criminal court on drug charges and distributing. It may seem to be "no big deal", but that is until you understand the punishment for such a crime in the UAE, death.
The Emirati court and Justice Ministry officials aren't releasing any information about the case other then confirming the possibility of the men receiving the death penalty for selling marijuana.
The identities of the two men involved haven't been made public as of yet.
