I'm sure you all had memories like these.
They can be good and bad memories, we all seem to think of the bad memories first.
Well I would like to try making you think of the really good memories.
Carol and I have two girls and a boy who are now successful adults.
Paula became a teacher, Brenda and Philip both C.P.A's.
When all three of my kids were between one and two years of age, I was at my heaviest weight, I would lay on the floor in front of the TV.
Paula was our first born, she was about two, and she love to try and get up top of my belly.
With a little help from me she did, she would put her little head on my belly and fall asleep. And that's when Daddy discovered nap time. (Smile)
All three use to do the something, they learned from one another.
We have a fireplace in the den, Carol and I sometimes like to start a fire when the family was in there.
The three kids were 4, 6 and 8 years of age they loved going up to the fireplace and sit on the edge to feel the heat on them.
When they discovered winter and snow, they wanted to be out there like all kids do, Mom would one by one get them dressed to keep them warm and dry. (smile)
I remember one year we had about 2 to 3 feet of snow and they all wanted to go play and make a snowman, when we opened the front door they all shot out like bullets.
Paula being the first, she was big enough to push a little harder out the door.
Now picture this, Paula was the tallest of the three, maybe about 40 inches tall, here she goes running out into the snow and it almost up to her butt. Carol and I laughed so hard and then the other two jump in right behind her.
Thank God the other two were light enough not to go in as deep as their sister.
Poor Brenda, I don't know how she made it, anytime Paula wanted to try something she would always get Brenda to try it first.
I remember this one time Brenda came into the house with her mouth cover with dirt, so Carol asked what happened, she said Paula made a dirt pie and told her to try it Paula said it's good, so Brenda trusted her sister and tired it.
I remembered another time when Paula was about 10, Carol and I took the three kids to one of the town pools, we were having fun in and out of the pool, Carol and I took Philip who was 5 then back to play with his things on the towel, so we got back we turned to see if the girls were doing okay, to our surprise there was Paula on the top of the diving board and Brenda right behind her as always.
I raced over and told them to come down, they did and not to happy about it.
I shouted at her telling her she was getting punished when we get home for doing that. I asked, why did you ask your sister to do some thing you never did, she said I wanted to see if it was safe for me to do. I laugh now but it wasn't funny then.
Poor Brenda, Paula would always get her into trouble.
One night I think Brenda realize she was being taken for a ride by her sister as it were. She was trying to sleep and I think Paula was on the phone with her boyfriend, Brenda shouted shut up I can't sleep, well after about an hour of that Paula did hang up, I guess Brenda was having a nightmare about Paula, she got up went into Paula's room and beat the crap out of her when she was asleep.
Poor Philip, they teamed up on him, Paula always like playing teacher and he would be the student some times Brenda would play too.
One Christmas we got the girls a play kitchen and guess what? There goes Paula making a play-doh apple pie and guess who she's making it for, right Brenda. And now Paula has Philip also. (Smile)
Some of the other special memories were with our dearest friends Kathy and Pete.
Pete and I love to eat, I love to cook, you can see where this is going, and we would take turns on whose kitchen would look like a bomb hit it. The girls didn't like it because they were the ones to clean up. Well we did cook. (Smile)
Pete and Kathy were the first to have a baby, a beautiful and cuddly little girl, named Lisa.
I remember she was only a few months old, she took a liking to me and she didn't want any one to hold her just me and her Dad.
I can honestly say Lisa was the first girl that drooled over me. (Smile)
Lisa was the reason we wanted children. Carol seems to think that wasn't the reason, you tell me.
Kathy said okay lets make a bet to see who will conceive first, the bet was the loser picked up the bill for dinner at a very exclusive place. Now you see why Carol said what she did, Pete and I love to eat.
We won Kathy and Pete paid for dinner. Now that's a great bet, Food and SEX! (Smile)
Kathy, Pete, Carol and I, Damn if that don't sound like a movie. (Smile)
We always like doing the same things with the kids; we would pack up the car grab the kids and go on a road trip to six fags in New Jersey or Hershey Park in Pennsylvania.
And now that our kids are adults the four of us do other things. I remember Kathy wanted to go learn to country line dance, so guess what we did. However, after a few weeks they stopped and we didn't, we went on to hosting our own country dance and for ten years our business card read "Country Hearts Productions".
I have to say It was fun, Carol would be up in front with the newbie's trying to teach them how to stay in step and I was in the back doing my thing, my thing was just to dance with all the ladies, I can't help it if all the younger ladies that knew how to dance were dancing all around me. (Smile)
One time I was dancing and there was this 5' 2" blond with a body of a 20 year old dancing next to me smiling as she danced.
Before I go on with this story you need to understand I was blessed with one wife and Kathy who some times thought she was my wife, if you're reading this Kathy, Love you, okay now that you know that.
One time at one of the dances this same lady was dancing next to me, she was laughing and having fun, my first mistake was to go out into the bar area where Kathy and Carol were.
I hear Kathy telling Carol why is Sal out there with all those ladies and not wearing his wedding band?
At that point in time I was working in a place where I almost lost my hand due to my wedding band so on weekends I forgot to put it back on.
The next week Carol asks me if I would put it on and I did. Now comes the best part, I walk in to the dance and Kathy was there waiting, as I go by she tells Carol good he's wearing his ring.
About two hours later I came out and said to Kathy thank you, why she asked, I said, wasn't it you who wanted me to wear my wedding band, yes she said, why?
I laughed, and told her because now they are all around me because I'm wearing the ring.
The moral of the story is? If you guys want to talk to more ladies wear your wedding band.
Kathy, Pete, Carol and I, there's that movie again. We still go out and do things together but not as much now, they moved to Florida. Hopefully within the next two years they will be back and we can all make more Memories.
I hope you all enjoyed some of our memories in time. As I remember more I will post them.
And to my very beautiful wife Carol and my beautiful girlfriend Kathy Love you both, to you Pete you're out of luck. Just kidding love you too Pete, without you both our life's would not be the same.
