I guess you could call me a lock smith
I like to try and open things that are secreted away
I never take anything unless its offered
My specialties are the locks attached to masks
Every soul has a mask that is presented to the world
These locks are most interesting to me,
The treasure, special and unique in each person
Some locks are easy and fall away with a tap
Some are difficult and take a long time to open
Once dropped, what is beneath can be lovely and frightening
Some masks are equipped with a trap mechanism
If you are too quick to remove the mask you spring the trap
This can affect you or the prize underneath
Caution is the key to removing all masks
I work without camouflage, somehow it coaxes the lock
I have discovered this to be a double edged blade
For as it makes mask removal easier it is a beacon to traps
Those with traps are drawn to my naked heart
A clever trap was the mask behind the mask
This went on many layers until I held a frightened soul
The most difficult was a very recent one,
It was a mask behind a mask with a trip blade
As I removed the façade I saw a beautiful image
One that took my breath away and froze my gaze
Understand this was extremely well crafted, it took years
Also now that the beauty I beheld was not physical
The treasures I seek are those people spend little effort on
As I became lost in the disguise, a blade nicked me
While this would not have been the first time
The blade being dipped in poison was
I spend my last moments of free will writing this text
The poison which soars through my blood
Leaves me in a kind of suspended animation
My muscles are shutting down, my mind rages strong
Forever ensnared in rapture of a wondrous soul
Forever unable to see underneath to what is true
Forever lost to the will of the trap owner
Have I found ultimate treasures, have I found trash...
Not to know if what you see real before you pass is maddening
As I loose my sense of reason I beg you beware of looking
Beware the masks around you
