Finally, notice the number of friends and fans I have. That should give you a hint that I'm a little bit picky about who my friends are. Also, I rarely friend men. If you are a guy, and you've sent me a friend request, no offense, but I'm probably not interested. And finally, if you've chosen to make your profile private, for whatever reason (and I really don't understand people that do), there's very little chance we are going to become friends, since I don't often choose a friend based solely on their profile pic.
