Wow...talk about day from HELL. This day has gotten Way too long and it's still not over.
Went to the school to pick up my daughter Hunter and Morgan to take them to the horse club at the 4H. That went okay...yup...on my way back, in the middle of school and rush hour traffic my car decides to stop running. Stopped behind a school bus that was stopped at the railroad tracks. I know I know...a lot of stops..sigh. It just DIED. No great last gasp, no last agonal breath, nothing. After a few minutes the people behind me figured it out and started going around me. No one honked or yelled or gave me the finger, but I know they were irritated.
Not one but TWO Jones County Sheriff's Deputies came to the rescue, turning their blues on and directing traffic. Then they told me to put it in neutral and they pushed me and my car to the side of the road. One of them popped the hood and did a sound/visual diagnosis(LOL). Said the alternator was draining the battery. He told me him and the other deputy were on their way to clock in for their shift and that they would be back to check on me in case I couldn't reach someone to pick me up. They would then take me to my home for me.
I called my next door neighbor and he came, charged the battery back up(while doing that the deputies stopped back by and chatted) and got the car home. I don't know if it IS the alternator, but the deputy was dead right on the battery(hey! Dead? I made a funny!).
Got home and found my girls goldfish gasping(sound familiar?) for air and belly up. Had to do some goldfish CPR while my youngest daughter, Sabre, stood there crying. I thought that since his gills and mouth were still moving that there might be a chance, ya know? I put him in a different container and we waited. He seems to be coming back from the brink of death(hopefully my car will do the same).
Then...I get on here and I find this in my shout box:
rdthmpsn: you like guys with gf's huh
Ummm huh? Whatever d00d.
Can't wait to see what happens next. Or can I?
