Good Morning happy day. I am back at work, why because it’s Tuesday I guess. No not why I am back at work why today is a Happy Day. Tuesday is one step closer to Friday and Friday is the start to the weekend yeah…. All together now yeah… Ok, be stuck in that I am not happy to be here rut…been there done that. It is no fun! Ok I will just move forward… Hey just who the hell is this Liz Pulliam Weston anyway? I believe I have critiqued her articles before. This week she is doing the Bah Humbug Christmas thingy. It has articles on re-gifting, a gift card is not a real gift and Holiday spending mistakes and you name it she can tell you how to do it correctly. Well Bah my humbug to that. First off gift cards are practical when you have no idea what a certain person wants or needs. I always think it is better to give then to receive a teddy pink leisure suit… That was meant to be Teddy-Bear pink not the nightwear version…however not everyone can don a pink article of clothing and make it say, hubba hubba…So I think gift carding works for those hard to shop for person’s on your list. Take that Liz. Oh shoot I just checked and MP Dunleavey did the article on re-gifting…I like her article so it is Liz Bashing today and today only let me step back off the bus heading towards Liz bashing and look through another fine article she has written. Oh no she has ideas for a tightwad Christmas. Rummage Sales and Garage Sales do not make me think I have just purchased that all popular gift item that everyone wants…how in the world could she give anyone that idea to help when money is tight. It has been said time and time before, “It’s the thought that counts” Well just thinking someone purchased a item that normally gets picked up by the trash man if no one buys it at a rummage gives me the creeps. I can think of hundreds of items to give on a tightwads budget but none of them begin with Garage Sale. Ok, here is a clue. Everyone has seen a dollar store, I am not sure what they are called now days, Ben Franklins or Dollar-General or heck if I know… but those who say they can not make crafts or an item from their heart have never used their imagination to it’s fullest. Ask me I can give all kinds of Ideas… Most of these stores have baskets oh say costing like less then a buck. So bake some rolls throw some paper in the bottom and rid yourself of the ole tinsel or garland from last years ornaments. Wella, a gift baked and from ones heart. School bake sales always work and those things are meant to raise money for the school projects. Joann’s I think is a big sewing store, that has all sorts of trendy items and just wonder aimlessly through the aisles and you will come up with many ideas. Hell here is a cheap and easy one, get one of those serving trays and glue some wine corks on it and wella you have a hot plate. Or…same idea different version make a theme out of the tray. Hell I have seen those trays for like a buck or less. Being cheap is not always about being cheap. Ideas are rich and promote a happy outcome. Give yourself that happiness we all need through the holidays. I always say, happiness spawns happiness. So there Liz once again if you make someone feel cheap they feel…well cheap. Hang in there and may your week be rich and being cheap is not always looked on as cheap. Have a great day. A Huge hug and many pats cause yesterday I was not on so you have Mondays to deal with as well. Mart
